James McAtee

What surprises me is there doesn't appear to be anything on there forum YET
Do they care about him? He's trying to support whoever wins the Premier League. I get kids like the big players but I'd never take my kid to another football club unless we're playing them or it's a abroad.

Having watched the video, she and her son have no idea who McAtee was.

Mum: “Oo is it?”
Kid: “I av no idea”

Yet he is heartbroken that he hasn’t given him his shirt.

The other thing, before we get all defensive and FC Class and Dignity’s fans start getting on their high horses, he is a Man City player, not a Sheffield United player, this does not reflect badly on Sheffield United !

Agree. And I don't think it reflects badly on McAtee.
If it was one of their lot not giving a shirt to a young fan wearing a blades coat I would be saying the same. Kid will understand anyway.
If the kid gave him the rods as he drove off and shouted 'once a pig, always a pig' that would also have been funny to me.
It is the mother who comes out of this badly.
I wouldn't dream of letting my kid do this, if they asked me (and I hope they would) I would explain why.
I spoke to John Garrett about this topic on one of his brilliant ground tours......he has a opinion on it too!!

You are right.
Also, take away the Blades connection, one could argue that a Man City player would want to give his shirt to a City fan, not a Wednesday fan. Her talk that they had spent up at the club shop wouldn’t really be something he would be able to tell from his car.

Why is this even a story. His idol? You took a Wednesday fan to a Man City game? Why? Appreciate City cannot fill the Emptihad out but have Piggies fallen that low they must go to a CL game to see what its all about. McAtee can give his shirt to whoever he wants - the comment is genius.

I get that I used to take my lad to see them occasionally when we were in L1, and it appeared he would never get to see the Blades play at that level, and those big name players. Give that Mum her due, she is fully aware there is no way Oaklan gets to see Premier League players any other way!

It is pretty funny as a united fan ..........

But it is also pretty embarrasing fom Macatee driving off from a kid who is asking for a shirt he justy comes across as a t@sspot

He could have said hello signed something and said somethinh about wendy

Id bet he's pretty embarrased today

I don't think he cares. He earns thousands and thousands of pounds a week to be a footballer. Once a Blade always a Blade Macca.

Fucking Oaklan. LOL

Can someone please remind me what our very own Oaklan was called? It was something even more hilarious from a few months back. I can't quite remember and it's affecting me greatly.....
