James McAtee

Can really see Macca and Harmer linking up very well together. If Archer finds his form from last season with these two supporting, can see some gravy football.
Yep, don't think we'll dominate possession much but we'll be very good to watch at times. Creative and direct

Souza as the physical presence doing the defensive work, Hamer as the midfield dynamo, and the creativity and flair of McAtee.

On paper this looks like a midfield that has everything.

All those times I said that I love you
(You lied to me) yes I tried, yes I tried
(You lied to me) even though you know I'd die for you
(You lied to me) yes I cried, yes I cried...

Return of the Mac

🤞

I think we'll still be going for this long ball/wide channel hoof to get out. What's been missing is being able to play that ball into midfield (when won) and then make something of it by either the other striker getting put through from midfield or playing it out to the overlap. Mcburnie was usually our outlet for that, but Osula has really impressed me with his hold up play. Either one of those doing that job with Archer/Traore going in behind after some cheeky tika taka in midfield by these boys, could be a really good system against the high-pressing teams.

Just had to look up the Doyle deal; it made me cry out.
That's an opportunity missed.
Re-signing Fleck and Osborn probably cost more than it would to have signed Doyle at that rate.

Probably just an FFP accounting thing
Market value for Nunes could be more like £63m and Doyle £15m
But if the two parties sell at £53m and £5m respectively, it's the same net outlay, but both teams end up with a lower transfer expense amortised through the accounts over the life of the contract
If we had realistically offered £5m for Doyle in isolation it would have likely been rejected
Wolves wanted £65m and said they would reject any bids under that. What do you know, next minute they accept £55m and buy Doyke for £5m and formally put out that the deals definitely aren’t linked 😜

Life is a mystery
Everyone must stand alone
I hear you call his name
And it feels like home

When you call his name, it's like a little prayer
James McAtee , I wanna take you there
In the red and white, I can feel your power
Bladesman for life, you know I'll take you there

If wolves are relegated Tommy Doyle could become available again as you can assume that Tommy will not play in the championship . Also the fee paid for Tommy could be linked to the defender they brought in from Girona which seemed a lot less than the value El Accounto had of the same player . FFP rules are definately been manipulated in these deals !!!
Beeb are reporting Doyle is a loan so if they go down and we stay up then presumably we would have the cash to nip in a buy him?
