I'm good 56, still smashing my head at some of the stupidity on here and commenting accordingly.

Managed to trigger at least one person which makes it worthwhile :D

House repairs are definitely more interesting than the OP.

I think chuck norris would approve.

If we're paying 200k, Bradford have had our pants down, but if he's here, lets get behind him and hope that he proves his doubters (including me) wrong.

Have to say the last couple of results, especially Gillingham with Wilder sticking to the same team, plus this signing have me doubting Chris for the first time this season, hope its just Blades fan anxiety/negativity, and we produce a crushing performance against Fleetwood and I can breathe easily!

I'm happy enough with this signing. One of the main outcomes of the Bolton cup defeat was that we weren't physical enough, this signing solves that issue.

If we need a sledgehammer in the last 30 minutes of a game when they've parked the bus, then I can't think of many better at this level. We can't always pass through teams and even if doesn't score many, any he'll cause havoc in the box.

Also, set pieces, we're a big threat already with EEL, JO'c and Basham, imagine chucking him in there as well.

Some of my good pals are Wendyites, and they've said for years the way they got out of League one is to have big b*stards, who can bully the opposition mixed in with some football talent. I think we do lack some real presence upfront, and Hanson (as mainly an impact player) can do this job. Everytime we've played Bradford and his names is on the teamsheet I've always been slightly worried as he causes problems for defenders for 90 minutes. If he had signed for Bolton or Scunny, I would have thought decent signing that, a totally different option with good attributes (strength/aerial ability). 'Could' be a shrewd bit of business imo.

Has potential to be a decent signing for us this season, I'm intrigued as to what impact he has on our style of play.

Going to be really fucking pissed off if Hanson being on the pitch makes our players lazy and start hoofing it, if we play as we have been doing then I can see him being something we've been missing.

According to this forum, any other team that signs a player (good or bad) is a decent signing, but when SU sign someone his ability seems to come into question...you guys may have seen him play, but he's not played under the guidance of Mr Wilder, so FFS lets see what he's like before we get into a hissy fit!!

Don't think Wilder will throw away what he's built, just adding something that's been missing (height &muscle) good management.

I agree about Wilder. I'm more worried about the players taking the "easy" option, like what happened earlier in the season when Clarke was on the pitch.

I think I'll wait & see what Wilder & Knill can do with him before I pass judgement.
I remember jumping in with both feet against Neil Shipperley when I saw him play in a pre season friendly down at Matlock. It was the utter size of him, especially up close down at Causeway Lane that made me think we'd dropped a right clanger. (I think a young Billy Sharp may have scored in that game too .... anyone ? ).
Needless to say, so I shall say it, we looked far better with Shipperley in the side that season than when he was out of it.

I don't see us changing our style of play at all. We will still predominantly play on the deck but the difference will now be an aerial threat for crosses and another for corners.

Hanson seems to win everything in the air as well so on the odd occasion that anything that is launched up it should find his head. If he can develop an understanding with Sharp and Lavery then happy days as far as I am concerned.

Correct.

Totally agree mate. If any players just started to lump it (unless it's the last few minutes and we need a goal), then Wilder will sort them out.

I think some are worrying unnecessarily, he's not going to change our style going into the last 3 months of the season and the team doing well. Hanson gives us another option up front, and one that we've needed for years. Hanson will be the striker Higdon and Sammon should have been but never were.
