Might not be the best player, sloppy in possession sometimes and slow. Nor the biggest. But my my what a heart and desire to win games.

I don't think he's the answer long term but the shirt is his to lose now for a run of games. Hasn't let us down yet.

He's an organiser, reads the game well, talks a lot and sticks his body on the line when required. Wilder knows what he can and cant do and sets up to get the best out of him. He's miles better than anything we've had since Harry left and he looks like the bargain of the century.

4 in 4 for him. No coincidence. Outstanding.

I like Wright, I think he has done well so far for us, honestly I have to question Wilder why he wasn't played earlier, I was getting real doubts about him as a player when we were struggling and he was stuck on the bench.

It's no coincidence that bringing him into the team coincided with an upturn in our fortunes,

He's a leader, He may not have the best pace but he'll head the ball way all day and it'll go to a team member.

Just don't expose him to pace and he'll do the biz.

Definitely dropping Clarke, the performances have improved no end now we have a strike partnership that complements each other.

Moore is a big factor too, but we did lose against Millwall while he was in net (I know not specifically his fault but still!)

I think O'Connell is a great prospect but he's not a leader just yet so we need Wright to keep the defence solid. All being well with Moore being a talker he develops a tight unit between him and the defence so they don't really need to talk that often cos they'll already know what's required in each situation.

It's apparent since the Oxford game that the defence has been better organised and you can see Wright organising things. You don't have to have great pace to be a good defender as long as you have other attributes that make up for it such as anticipation and positioning and reading the game. The best example I can think of being Paul McGrath.

Can't argue with those stats but he doesn't fill me with much confidence at all. Hope he's not going to be in the side for long because I think he will start to struggle. Gives the ball away too often for my liking and is just far too slow.

The words 'organiser' and 'leader' recurring here. I don't think we've had a bad manager since Weir but none of them have had a real on field captain but look at the difference it makes.

It just goes to show you how little you need in this division to succeed.

Third choice at Oxford, best years behind him yet he comes into our side and has played a major part in our upturn.

During the pre season game vs. Hallam he stood out as a leader. Organising and encouraging the side throughout.

Moore does the same. Its so refreshing to see (and hear) players wanting to win a game of football. It was basics like that we've not had for years.

It's no wonder Warnock team(s) littered with Morgans, Kozluks, Geary's, Monty's, Shipperleys etc. all succeeded with limited ability.

This was biggest thing Wilder had to address and he has done that very quickly.

Wilder's centre-half transfer business is starting to look very, very good now that all four pieces of the jigsaw have been put in place.

Ebanks has added strength & power to the unit. Young O'Connell's admittedly made a rick or two but looks a class act. Wilson was unlucky to be dropped tbf. And Wright's got that calming, experienced, organizing presence.

I thought he had been brought in as nothing more than cover, and was not much more than a bit part player. I don't think he is a great footballer, but I do think he is one of those footballers with heart, spirit and great leadership qualities, I also think he complements the bigger, more powerful eel very well.

I think he's done really well and I think Wilder is making sure he plays to his strengths.

I don't like to see him come too far out because he can be turned too easily and hasn't got the pace to recover, Blake and O'Connell are the better options to push forward. But he reads the game well, he will head away crosses, block shots and make tackles in and around the box all day, and just as importantly, he'll organise the defence and communicate.

He's become an unexpected key player for us, let's hope he can keep up the his standards and fitness levels as the season progresses, although Wilson is still a good option and unlucky to have lost his place IMO.

He was our main target, it dragged on for ages and we missed out. We could've certainly done with him in the first few games.

But I'm glad we spent what would've been a similar fee on Simon Moore instead - if it was to be a case of one or the other.

I also think there are better value options at centre half for us, one of which could well be Ebanks-Landell. I'm not bothered that we didn't sign him, but I'm bothered that we wasted time and didn't sign an alternative until after the season had started.

I think, and I'm no expert, but it needs to be three at the back for Wright to be successful, I reckon he could be too exposed playing him and one other.but I have to say our defence is looking better every week, the central three with Moore behind them is working so leave it alone.

We played 4-4-2 in the second half so I agree and disagree at the same time. Formations have changed back and forth but Wright has played every minute

Being in the middle of a back three suits Wright best but he looked fine in the 4-4-2 we played in the second half yesterday. It probably helps him having someone like O'Connell at left back who's a natural centre half, who will often tuck in.

We looked more under the cosh with 3 at the back yesterday than we did with 4-4-2. Was surprising.

Wright's only doing what Collins did, except Wright has the advantage of EEL alongside to win all the headers and provide physical presence (just as Collins looked much better alongside Maguire). O'Connell is benefiting for the same reason. Take EEL out of the equation and Wright and O'Connell would struggle; and that's nowt against those two players, it's about getting the make up of the defence right.

Agree in a way but the character of Collins and Wright is different. Collins would try and blame younger players for any mistakes, ranting and raving. I know for a fact Wright is a top top bloke and a proper leader

He's not quite got the power or temperament of Morgs about him. I'd put him more as a Lucketti sort.
