It's a sign of having little cash. Having such a player on of itself isn't an issue. Great experience and maybe wants to get into coaching. But, if he's taking one of the 25 squad places up, then worrying. He's fine to come on for 20 minutes but he looked like his legs had gone when starting.

Something like FootyRumourMillBetHedger.com said he was being offered a new deal. Take that with an enormous pinch of salt. As of today, no player on the released list has been announced as having had a reprieve.

At the ripe old age of 37 (according to Wikipedia his birthday is in 2 weeks, does that mean he’s 38 when the season starts?) he is going to need to work incredibly hard in pre-season and beyond to compete. He’s a pro so I’m sure he’d do it - but what we can’t do is string it along “all summer” while we decide whether we need him and then decide he’s required at the back end of August. He’ll never catch-up again!

Bloke was in the squad during my first ever game at the lane 19/02/2000 and obviously the last playing of that generation. It'll be a tiny bit sad for me when he does hang up his boots. I hope there's another season in him if he's up to it.
