Whilst I'd love Jags baxk at the Lane if the financial deal is right for the club, I wouldn't swap Jags for Brooks. Jags is 35 now. Brooks has a real chance of being a very good player for a long long time.

If Brooks to Everton was a condition of any deal (though this is probably all pie in the sky) then it should be a firm 'no deal' from Utd. Let us enjoy the fruits of our academy for a change.

Agree, I have seen Brooks play a number of times and the lad has tons of talent, he is very aggressive for a slightly built lad, and loves to run at defenders, he is one to keep, 100%

I have to say I would like to see jag at the lane next season but only if the price is right. I can see a couple of other clubs going after him though if he is leaving Everton. I think he is a sensible player though and knows at some point in his career if he wants to carry on playing he is going to have to take a pay cut and he might rather come back to a club he knows and knows is a good club rather than end up some where he doesn't like and still end up taking a pay cut so we will just have to see. There's no doubt I would like to see him at the lane next season as he would help improve the team so we will see.
On the brooks subject I wouldn't look to far into it yet until we actually know what is going to happen. I personally think it is to do with the fact I think we are struggling to get a attacking midfielder at the minute and no one wants to come for the right price and as we know wilder isn't stupid enough to pay over the odds for ANYBODY (jags included). Plus to add to that brooks has just had a really good tournament with the under 20s why not let him have a go and see what he can do, from what I have seen of the lad I really like him for his age he is so confident on the ball loves taking players on and is skillfull and can play a nice pass as well if he gets a run in the team and keeps with the progress he is at the minute come the end of the season or before I can seen him been a really asset to the team.

By the way, just so we all know, Jagielka is pronounced "Yag Eel Ka"

He could be the player that prevents a lot of pain at the back this year

hmmm could be pal, I seem to remember a pal with Polish heritage explaining it to me, but memory could be playing tricks
Nah thats how a match commentator said his name not long after his transfer to Everton,the commentator was an ex player sidekick to the real commentator,it did my head in hearing Phil called Du gel ka.

As his name is Polish, it should be pronounced YA GYIL KAH with the stress on the first syllable;

He's just going to have to live with it, just like Kabba's failed attempt to get everyone to call him Steven rather than Steve.

It's been tough enough over the years getting fans to even spell our own players' names properly. From the likes of Rodgers, Nilson, Hutchinson, Marcello, through to McGuire and Sharpe in recent years, or topically "Brookes". Confusingly, people didn't seem to struggle with Peschisolido...

I'm concerned that this thread is trailing Lenny's by a considerable number of pages.
