No, he wouldnt have. The Everton player has no interest in our club. I hope the Bladey Blades are suitably embarrassed.
Embarrased? Bladeybladeness? I wonder what your thoughts are about that dirty weeds player....Tony, err wotsisname?

The exact quote from today is...

"I've never met the lad in my life and he's never been on our radar"

But then in the SkySports interview he seems more open to it, and is also very complimentary towards him:

"If he wants to come back and play for us for a couple of years we'll be delighted"

wasnt this about the barnsley lad who said in the press we were in for him after he signed for the dingles?

Yes, yes it was, wasn't aware that this was what Wilder was alluding to given that player hadn't been mentioned by the interviewer. Mix-up on my part – the thread continues!

But after that he was posed the question "Is that a no then?"

CW replied "next question"

We're definitely looking at him.

I'd say it's at least at the 'exploring the possibility' stage.

Yeah, just listened to it and you can tell Chris is just smiling while speaking throughout the entire thing and refused to genuinely answer any questions on it. Were 100% going for it with him.....

Love it Pinchy. Nobody has suggested that. The comments have almost ubiquitously been along the lines of "I'd love him back of he's willing to accept a significant paycut". Are you seriously suggesting that a Premier League regular former England international centre back on a salary within our wage structure wouldn't be a good signing (imagine no former blade affiliations if it helps you)? For what its worth I don't see this happening but it seems to be you with the bladey bladeness obsessions on this one old chap...

Cmon Pinchy lad.

The possibility of one of the best and most consistent CBs in the Premiership of the last Decade rejoining the club that shaped him.......

Tufty doesn't do spunkin money. He's just told us that ! Leave the financial side to the club / manager.

I absolutely categorically can not think of a better CB at Championship level than PJ.

If you are being honest, can you ????

Still a long way to go boys

Can see this happening even though they appear to be diverting away from it. It would be a case of balancing his remaining reported 50k per week salary into our wage structure. A signing on fee of £1m and salary of 15k a week should see him right for a 2 year contract and effectively pay him £25k per week for that term. His big wage earning is about to come to an end sooner or later. However, 1 prem club coming in for him would scupper that.

Fingers crossed!

Still think he'll end up at Burnley as a replacement for Keane.

Was just talking to a Blackburn fan about it. He was like "Isn't he still 1st choice at Everton? Why would he join United?"

So i explained that he started his career here and has only played for us and them (he's only young you see), to which he replied "really? fucking hell, if you can sign him, that would be a reyt signing"

I just pray that he doesn't end up somewhere else in the championship and we all see just how good he could've been for us.

That was in reference to the lad that signed for Barnsley in regards to speculation that gets passed around. He meant they never met him or wasn't ever on our radar.

I read something on an Everton forum the other day. It sounds like Jags lost his place to Ashley Williams this season and the Everton fans think he's finished. Too slow. He got loads of stick from their fans on Twitter after the loss to Swansea last month - article here...

http://www.footballinsider247.com/g...-react-senior-duo-performance-loss-v-swansea/

Is he still good enough for Sheff Utd? I'd hope so. But not for £50k a week or anything remotely close to it. Offer him 10 years at £5k a week and plan for him to move into coaching, catering, or groundsmanship, when he's finished playing perhaps?

In his interview with Sky, Wilder said he'd not been in contact with Jags and he thought he'd got life in the Prem left in him.
