Presumably, the pace of The Championship will be slightly less than the PL so would play into his hands somewhat. That and the first yard being in the head and he'd be fine IMO. Again, assuming this is anything more than wishful thinking, Chinese whispers and twitter chat-pixie dust

Being in a back 3 rather than 2 will no doubt help prolong his career too.

I still can't see this happening as it would be a phenomenal signing. He played 40 odd games for a good Everton side last year and although he's not at the very top of his game anymore he will surely be the best centre half in the league

We couldn't get anyone better for that central defensive role. I'm also very happy with Basham and O'Connell at right and left centre back. Roles that suit them perfectly.

Also got to say that if we do sign Jags I'm even more disappointed we didn't get Jason McCarthy. Jags would've been the perfect mentor for him - McCarthy is comparable to him when he was younger - athletic and versatile, playing RB and CB. Add all the things he could learn off him to that athleticism and he could develop into a quality player.

I hope the other CB we sign is someone young with good potential. Jagielka on his own would give us more than enough experience, and using him to develop JOC and another young CB would be the ideal scenario.

And his one at home v Boro for our first win of last prem season. Still think it's the loudest I've ever heard it at the Lane when that one went in.

This is also doing the rounds. I have been watching Twitter all night (mainly so I don't have to talk to our lass) and that has not appeared on my timeline from the club, people claiming the club released it "by mistake". I know our club are known for their stupidity at times, but they wouldn't be that stupid, I also refuse to believe they would announce a signing at 10PM
