Jagielka looks like he's lost it.

Late red card tonight, poor performances all season, fans on his back...

Come home Jags...
Even if he's not in form there's plenty of lower end Prem and Championship clubs that would have him and pay him more money than we could.

Waiting for Pinchers.

I genuinely don't think he's a better defender than any of our current back 3. Some players hit a certain age like a brick wall. Look at Hammond

I said a few weeks ago on the shout box that I thought his legs had gone. He's giving away penalties and missing challenges in a way that suggests he's now a fraction slower.

But he's not Dean Hammond - he would walk into our team and look utterly majestic in League 1. But that won't happen. :)

PS - If Hammond had played for Leicester at all last season it would have been the most embarrassing sight on a football pitch since Southampton were phone-jacked into signing Ali Dia.

Jags has had a good run at Everton and with England. He has sadly lost a yard or two of pace, which is what made him so effective.
Would I want him back?
Hell yea. He still has more than enough for the league above and would absolutely own any striker in Division 3.
Will it happen? Of course it won't.

He's apparently on Koemans list of players he'll listen to offers for

It seems his days are well and truly numbered at Everton

He's had a good career tho and will always be remembered by many Blades for his time at the Lane (apart from the inexplicable handball against Wigan  )

He played plenty in previous seasons.

We'd be effectively gambling on the point at which his legs go, and every performance would be judged against that.

Isn't it more exciting watching players where we can discuss how they can get better, ones that don't break the bank, ones that you can move on when It's clear they aren't going to make it?

If we go up for the right sort of wages he'd do a good job for a couple of seasons. Does anyone on here really think he's not better than the likes of Wright or Wilson ? He could be just the sort of player to bring along the likes of O'Connell and EEL. He's clearly not quick enough for the premier league but the quality of strikers at championship level is way lower and the likes of Billy wouldn't get a kick playing against him.

However what do I know when he first broke into our side in midfield I thought he had no chance of making it !

I'm afraid jags is carrying half a stone ,he's lost two yards ,if I was jags I'd retire at the end of the season ,the slope is quicker to go down than it is to climb .just the type of player we don't need think Hammond think rushy think Thompson think withe you could go on all night .

How did he get on? I'd heard he didn't touch the ball?
He looked good to me. Won the corner for the winning goal and had a good understanding with the other forwards. He did make one rushed duff clearance at the end, but wasn't the only one in panic mode at that point.

I think there might have been a possibility of him coming back to us had we gone up last season (cough), but I think at 35 his days are numbered now, certainly in the top division. Having said that, if / when we do go up and Tufty continues to play 3 at the back.............

On another note, if and when he wants to get into coaching he'd be a magnificent defensive coach.

But that will be at Everton.
