I enjoy a fair, robust challenge as much as the next knucklescraper but the tackle on Palmer was a disgrace and could've easily been a red card.

On that subject - I resent the United Media team doing post-match compilations of JLT 'doing' opposition players. It's taking us back to the moronic mindset of cheering when opposition players get hurt, like Holgates red card against Brighton which was met with applause and 'corrupt as f**k' chants.

Stinks of small club mentality.

Nothing wrong with a proper tackle like Anels in the 2nd half

But JLT leg breakers nah not for me Jeff

yeah could easily have been red very wild challenge and similar one by caseimero against liverpool both could have seen red

Goode's attempted tackle on Khadra was a 'leg breaker'

Robbo's wasn't. It was late and a definite card but not the over the ball studs up type some are painting it as.

People thought that Holgate's tackle was hard and fair at the time in the ground because they didn't see it clearly. To me it looked that way from the South Stand, it was only til I watched it back at home I thought "yeah thats a red card any day of the week and some."

JLT last season did some robust challenges and they were spot on. Even the one he did on Pedro Porro in the FA cup, Pedro jumped back up and just carried on because he knew it was a decent tackle.

JLT unlike some players we have had before him has a fairly decent record of making hard but fair sliding tackles. Yesterday's was a poor one but most of the time they are not and that is why the media team post them.

Thank god we have him for another year at least !

...is a gloriously mental, thunderous, hard nosed, committed, take no shit bastard. ❤️

What a player to have around the squad. Yes, not the most gifted with the ball at his feet, but always fired up, always gives his all, other sides know they're in for a fight and that they can't mess us around with him in our side. Always clatters at least 1-2 per game, bloody loves a challenge, has one hell of a throw and very useful in both boxes. Proper athlete too, gets up and down well.

Proper gobby, mouthy, mardarse scouser, in the best of ways. Gives us an edge. Exceptional at shithousing.

Always gives 100% within his capabilities. Deserves more credit.

Well in, la. 🔴⚪⚔️
Over rated, under skilled, gerrrim moved on.
Try Forest, Blades owe 'em one or two.
Strange how the team has become settled and cohesive since his playing absence.

I think it’s more to do with Souttar coming in, than Robinson going out.

Robinson is a leader though, promoted before and devoted to the club, I’m happy with him as deputy.
Souttar is a big step on from having Robinson at the back.

Robinson's committed, can do a job and is all blood and guts but I would lose no sleep if we didn't see too much of him this season, short of needing the long throw to chase a game or an extra body at the back to close one out.

He wasn't exactly tested last night but think Robbo deserves a mention for looking the part.
He played really well and thankfully, we didn't miss Anel at all.

I agree that Robbo played well and we didn't miss Anel. But I'm not sure the stat is hugely meaningful: it reflects a game where we were utterly dominant (67% ball possession) and spent large periods passing it across the back line. Those easy/safe passes under little or no pressure are always more likely to be completed than more incisive forward passes through the opposition lines.
(Again, no criticism of Robbo here - easy/safe passes are probably what we want from our CBs most of the time).
