To be fair if he can get a three year contract then it's a a good move for him and good business for us like all the departures,
I can't knock it, what I can knock is the lack of business on incomings and the quality of the business model so far, I actually think we might end up in a relagation battle.

As much as I've slated Robbo over the years he's always stepped up for us. It's managers who play him out of his depth. His wrestling antics and some of the alleged other stuff hardly endear him. This is a good deal purely based on his age/contract and his seeming desire to leave. He's a decent Championship defender. Limited but you know what you're getting.

I don’t actually believe it - but to an outsider - COH’s behaviour at the moment & apparent inability to spend any money looks very much like ‘Asset Stripping’ to protect their investment & avoid losses!
Difficult to disagree with that statement to be fair. On the flip side I can understand that players within a year or 2 of contacts ending and the “right fee” coming in are being sold however we do need to replace even if that is with loans. Although again to throw myself out there tin hat on, do we actually want to be the whipping boys of the Premier League? If we can get some stability in the Championship with top half finishes and bring through our academy players whilst future proving the club with better academy and stadium facilities then our years in the Premier League wouldn’t have been wasted. We always seem to be desperate to get there and then moan a bucket full about VAR, Sky TV and a corrupted league favouring the big boys.

robinson is just ok on the left of a back 3 he just about gets away with it in that system complete liability in a back 4 although looked international class yesterday when he came on compared to rnd

I keep seeing this claim, made by people who clearly don’t understand asset stripping or how owners take money out of clubs.
I do you don't. What is the value of Robbo as an asset after amortisation and how much money are the owners taking out of club?

This situation is indicative of broader concerns of our new owners' recruitment skills.

Was Wilder the long-term answer? No.
Were Souza or Anel realistically going to stay? No.
Were the returning loanees affordable? No.
Were other players, such as Brewster or Robinson ever likely to be the answer or good enough longer-term? No, of course not.

But we have zero indication as yet of the new owners' recruitment skills. Their budget, their scouting network, their ability to identify targets or to thrash out a deal. Their silence might mean their transfer business is well guarded, and I'd be all for that, but as it stands I can't help but feel that they don't have the skills or experience to navigate the transfer market and sign what we need. After all, we're now in need of 3 CBs if Robinson goes, a CDM, a CF to compete with Campbell and RB depth to support Seriki.

They're new to the EFL and to football ownership full stop.

And as it stands, I have very little faith in their ability to get what we need.

I wonder if they read this place, to gauge the temperature amongst the fan base?
Doubt it pal....think we're fucked if I'm honest. But does it matter at least we get to visit different grounds next season, what we've not been to for a while👍

It will affect there losses if we go down!

I’ve never minded Robinson. Gave everything. Always had a howler in him every few months yes. But kept showing up and never hid.

But if we could get a fee for him and replaced with a good permanent signing I would let him go.

If Robbo goes, who do we play at CB on Saturday?????
We would need 3 CB's in if he goes. In my opinion:
  • A veteran CB. To help lead the team and guide younger players (essentially what Robbo does for us).
  • An established CB under 26.
  • A young promising CB (Zätterström)

However, I think it will be RND again if nobody comes in

I do you don't. What is the value of Robbo as an asset after amortisation and how much money are the owners taking out of club?
Robbo has negligible amortisation maybe a couple of hundred thousand as an asset, I’d suggest. That number doesn’t equal his value to our team given our current defensive options.
The owners haven’t as yet taken a penny out of the club.

Hope this helps.

Got to sell
No one else will come in for him
He shouldn't be anywhere near the team and he is known to be difficult if he doesnt get his way

So they aren't asset stripping.

Asset stripping. That would only make sense if you had a squad of equal value to your investment. You spend £100mil and sell £25mil of players. You've still lost £75mil and you're not going to claw that back by weakening a squad of players and reducing your chances of getting promoted. Asset stripping makes no sense after 8 months in charge.

You don't make profit in football unless you get to the Premier League and do what Brentford and Brighton have done. Other than that it's a mum's game.

So they aren't asset stripping.
Of course they aren’t. How the fuck can they be it they aren’t taking any money out?
You said you know what it is and I don’t, so explain how they’re doing it because I can’t see it?
I mean you’re effectively saying they’re committing fraud if you’re saying they’re taking money out without accounting for it, so you’d better make it good.
