I already think we're heading into a spell of mediocrity, as there's deep-rooted change required in the club that I have zero belief will happen.
But it's utterly insane to ever suggest that JLT is a worthwhile signing at this level. We should be content to just laugh our heads off that Brum were willing to take him in the first place.
His lack of comfort in possession of the ball, is of a level I'd expect to see from players 4, 5, maybe 6 divisions beneath the Championship. People speak about his grit, and ability to make a strong challenge, but that stuff is often only needed because he screwed up with the ball at his feet in the first place. And in the current world of football, where possession is king, and your defenders are expected to provide some amount of passing and/or dribbling technique, Robinson is an absolute no-no.
What makes it worse, is when he does make a mistake, he often will just scream and shout at someone, anyone else, just to try and direct attention away from him. I've seen him bellowing at linesmen after making a mistake, seemingly trying to claim a foul, when the reality is just that he's gash with the ball at his feet.
Our defence has plenty of room to develop and get better with the right signing(s), but he would be an absolute backward step. He's a less technically competent version of Tanganga, and we've already got McGuinness for that.
