The strangest aspect of this is the 2.5 year deal. I mean, if he;s simply cover for JOC and extra cover for Enda it would be odd to offer so long a deal unless one of them were going.

Stearman has gone and Kean Bryan is heading out on loan. Robinson is a fairly cheap gamble plus it means we have another player called Jack in the squad.

Why? If one leaves and we have to replace him, we still need cover. We’ll always need cover. We could have Walker, Van Dijk and Laporte playing but we’d still need cover.

(did I miss any?)
And Luke Freeman.
I don't consider Mousset as a long chase, I really mean the ones who've taken longer than one transfer window (unless I am mistaken about this).
Freeman, I don't consider as a success yet, he's an odd one being he's a better winger than anything else and we don't really play with them.
I have just reminded myself of the longest chase I can remember, however once again it can be discounted as it was across multiple managers and Wilder pulled him in straight away: Fleck.

We tried to get Mousset in on loan the previous summer.

Gotta be a better option than Keane Bryan
And allows us to send Bryan out on loan so he can get some experience and we can see if he’s worth persisting with or if we should just get rid.

Forest fan here. Have to say, I'm as surprised as some of you are that you've signed one of our backup players for your task in hand in the Prem, simply because it's natural to think you'd be looking elsewhere, but as some of you have said as cheap backup it makes sense.

Firstly, he's not dynamic enough going forward to do the job we require with the way our current team play. He's had a decidedly average season at LB, and it's easy to see why we'd want a more pacey, dynamic option instead. So whilst Forest fans may say "he's crap", it's more a case of "he's not suited". My best mates a Blade & says you'll utilize him as the left CB of a 3, and that to me is definitely his strongest position. He was crap as a LWB for us, but that said he probably only played there 1 or 2 games, so I wouldn't write that off either. As left sided CB backup he's playing in a far more suited position than he ever has or will at Forest.

His attitude is spot on, no surprise Wilder likes him there, he's got a decent cross on him when he gets that far forward, and he's stayed fairly injury free.

Better LB than Osborn too, but Osborn's a better LWB or LM

Rumored to have quite a big cock on him. You can see it here hanging right.

Best of luck for the rest of the season. Hope you break the top 6.

Cheers mate. If the fee is less than £1m as has been rumoured & he's bringing up the squad's average pipe length then it gets my backing.

Sensible succession planning. I recall that Leicester City had Mcguires replacement in a full season before he left.
We all want JOC to stay but rumour in this window just means even more speculation in the summer. He’s a fine player, now proven at PL level. Bound to create interest for clubs with shaky defences.

£500,000. Source: Wilder’s post-match interview. Also says he could have spent “5 or 6 million on another player” but it would have been wasted needlessly in his view.

If we have a few million going spare then he can lend me a few quid.

Given he's come in and hasn't really played I was impressed by him. He made a few mistakes, which he needs to work on, but getting in the right positions and making the right choices. He tired later on and I was a bit worried. Hopefully he'll be able to play on Sunday as well.

Agreed, was great tonight
