An observation.
The last third of last season... Robinson was one of the first names on the teamsheet with some excellent performances all the way through to the playoffs. Again, after coming in recently he looks to be hitting this towering form again. Crunching well timed tackles galore. His wobbles appear to be certainly restricted to the first half of the season. I hope I haven't cursed it and he scores 3 x OGs against Blackburn now 🤣

Probably the biggest blades turnaround in terms of performance levels & respect amongst the fans since Paul Coutts.

Absolute colossus of a centre half at the minute & has been for a while. Blood & thunder, hard fucker with a rayt big chuck on him to boot. He can play a bit too. Goal threat, doesn’t take any shit & commands respect. Yeah he’s got a mistake in him, but show me a footballer that doesn’t.

I’ve done a complete 180 on him. Big fan of Robbo.

We'll have to do what Bassett did and have a Christmas party in August just for Jack.

My opinion of him has changed from him being a 'Bomb-Scare' defender who looked like he was out of position and dropping clangers week in week out, to Mr Dependable defender.
Well done Jack, keep up the good work..

Went to the game last night and would love to watch the 3 CBs crunching tackles again. Anyone got any links?

I think thay any player joining our club (particularly defensive players) will need a little longer to adjust and get used to our unorthodox tactics. Even now, Hecky has persisted with the license for defenders to push up the pitch into attacking positions from open play. Not many players will have witnessed or played in such a role prior to joining us.....

I think this has a degree to do with Robinson's earlier failings. I think he struggled with the players around him pushing on and I felt he wasn't overly sure of his own responsibilities either. We found ourselves a little overloaded and exposed at times and Robinson was guilty of a few poorly thought out and timed challenges. Either that or he failed to pick up certain players.

But I think he has been here long enough to get what we are all about now and as a result he knows what others will be doing, as well as his own roles and responsibilities. He's grown into the squad and he is stand out again more recently, I would argue thay he is one of the first names on the team sheet and a key player.

Fair play to him!

Confidence player. Simple as that.
You don’t go through the Liverpool academy and lack talent. It’s down to confidence, and those errors affecting his game.
As he gets older he will get better at managing it so you may find that by the time he’s coming to the end of his career he’s playing his most consistant football.

Jack was outstanding last night…. but I thought he had two indifferent games vs Boro and Millwall and would have replaced him with Clark if available.

I wonder if it’s a coincidence that he’s returned to excellent form as a result of not having to babysit Lowe, who positionally is all over the place and looking shaky?

You do realise he is 29!

yes….and probably has 2-3 more years at this level….and if he keeps this up will no doubt get games with us if we go up as well.
The point being that he’s getting better through experience and dealing with his errors to mean 1 error doesn’t become three…and that 1 error isn’t the goal leading error it often has been.

He's still Liverpools 2nd youngest player to ever start a premier league match... you dont do that without having something special about you.

My problem with Robinson is that every time I start to really believe in him he does something stupid and it costs us. When I watch him have games like last night it's an absolute pleasure. There's not many defenders can still put in a crunching challenge cleanly in the modern game where anything untoward is a foul, but there's Robinson last night flying in on players of Son's calibre. I just don't know if I can put the howlers out of my mind. At Championship level, sure, but the consistency required in the Prem is so tough because small mistakes will get punished that much more often.

Thought Sharp was a 7. Thought his experience up top was again valuable. He’s the last of that generation that apply the little niggles, kicks etc. don’t think PL defenders get it as much, as the games so sanitised now.

Brooks did well to say he’s 19, hardly played and was up against Spurs. What an evening for the lad, think a 6 is fair enough, but he didn’t shy away. Hope to see more of him, his pace and stature look scary!

Don't know why that tackle wasn't in the highlights. It was absolutely sublime

Its not just that he's a good player, he's good in all the attributes that us Blades value most - commitment, physicality, attitude. The things that teams like THFC have forgotten

The whole game is on BBC iPlayer, just watched it again, great stuff from all the lads, including Robbo's "no-nonsense" defending.

He reminds me of an 80s/90s player, no shirking challenges and no fucks given when he gets knacked - a bit of a Carl Bradshaw type.

I remember once against Forest Bradshaw/Pearce crunched each other and both got up and carried on, several times during the game - wouldn't happen now.

He was a colossus last night. One of the finest defensive displays I've seen in many a year from a Blade.

He also came in and played pretty well at the backend of the Prem relegation season. Maybe that's it, only pick him after February.
