Well, what's your thoughts on this now? Considering his latest xenophobic comments
I was replying to a post claiming that Wilder would never use the foreign market.
My thoughts are that the 9 players listed disproved that.

They didn't if you choose to ignore the 9 players listed.

Berge aside, which of them did Wilder give a proper opportunity to?

For those that didn't get an opportunity, would you consider that maybe those individuals were imposed on Wilder?
It's unusual for Wilder to chase a player, sign them, then not give them much game time..

Again, I was replying to a post that Wilder would never sign a player from the foreign market, which wasn't true.

Weak response.
Your letting your agenda come ahead of facts.
If you think 9 players, most of which will not have been signed by Wilder, is proof opposite to what's being suggested then you're a nutcase 😂

His comments about our culture, and why we don't sign them are another bit of irrefutable evidence

Ryan Leonard and Ricky Holmes immediately spring to mind.

Yet again - I was answering the post that Wilder wouldn't sign players from the foreign market and listed 9 players that Wilder signed from the foreign market.
I answered this over 4 months ago. I hope you enjoyed your Saturday bumping back old posts and starting new Wilder threads.
And I'm the nutcase?

And I'm the nutcase?

Do you seriously think that signing 9 players from abroad - one of whom is Australian, for crying out loud - in over 10 years is enough to disprove a theory that Wilder is xenophobic?

How many games did they all play? How involved was Wilder in their signings? I would suggest the answers are “barely, if at all” and “not at all” respectively.

The two who played semi-regularly are Berge (club record signing, identified by van Winckel) and Grbić (identified by Duke and signed in response to Wilder falling out with Foderingham when the latter refused to sign a new deal).

You also missed off Verrips IIRC.

What Wilder thread did I start on Saturday?

Since everything you do is so black and white with absolutely no grey areas or space for nuance I'm sure you'll be able to point me in the right direction

I listed 9 players and you've added another.
Claiming that Berge and McGree barely played is obviously agenda led.

I apologise. "The Wilder Covenant" was at the top of the Board on Saturday and I wrongly thought that you'd just started it.

You're intensely deluded

Sorry old chap, Riley McGree and Matthew Hoppe aren’t really forrin.

That leaves 8 overseas signings in 11 seasons. 7 of those made fewer than 10 first team appearances. Four didn’t make a start and two didn’t ever play for the first team. We have played probably 350 first team matches under Wilder and foreign players probably make up less than 10% of the minutes.

Berge - pushed by van Winckel and the one you can have, he’s probably why Wilder likes Scandinavians.
Zivkovic - five sub appearances
Retsos - one out-of-position sub appearance. Has 27 caps for Greece, by the way.
Verrips - four appearances
Grbic - 11 appearances
Coulibaly - 5 starts in 9 total appearances
Cacares - no appearances. Signed on Bord’s recommendation so never going to be good enough
Nwachukwu - no appearances. Also Bord.
McGree - Australian. Hardly “forrin”
Hoppe - American. Hardly “forrin”

It’s pretty unequivocal that Wilder either doesn’t like foreigners or doesn’t think they’re suitable to play for us. Neither of those is acceptable.

Glad to see the Wilder bashing has died down now after out win 🤣
Honestly, people moan about anything

I replied to a post claiming Wilder wouldn't sign ANY players from the foreign market and you've just listed 10 of them (whilst trying to claim people from literally the other side of the world are domestic).
It's like trying to argue that Ian Huntley wasn't a murderer because he only killed two in 52 years.

I think it is fair to say that it is exceptional for Wilder to sign a foreign player and that he doesn’t do so out of personal choice. The players you have cited, as Balham has illustrated very well, tend to be the exceptions that prove the rule.

He's signed 4 in the past 12 months plus Doherty.
I'm not convinced that accusing him of being xenophobic whilst claiming that people from the other side of the world are "hardly forrin" is illustrating very well.

Who are the 4 he’s signed in the last 12 months? The only one I can see is Ayew, who has played virtually his whole career in this country.
