With this season effectively being written off by COH in the summer, Promotion being nigh on impossible, the prince still being owed big chunks of money, fees still being owed for transfers (as well as incoming for players sold), we'd be absolutely mental to start splashing cash in January. Wheeling and dealing, maybe but paying out high risk fees, no chance. I'd also see a big January splurge as a huge red flag with COH to add to other red flags.... We've secured loans against future parachute payments, so we're not flush with revenue. Next season will see bug cuts without new revenue streams.

Seems like a he's on a list of players that we would target if we sell hamer.

This would only happen if we sell. Unless we are being cheeky & saying can we send Ogbene back and swap him with Clarke please 😂.

If we're after Clarke then that's on the same side as Hamer and Clarke wouldn't be subbed to sit on the bench. I wonder if this just a backup plan if Hamer leaves. I love gamer but it is worth saying he's not a left winger and if we could sign someone of genuine quality who is a natural left winger then I'd be ok with Hamer going.

I still think no chance...

"His two seasons on Wearside so far have been contrasting, suffering relegation from the Premier League in his first but then helping the Tractor Boys bounce straight back with automatic promotion in the second."

Didn't realise Ipswich had relocated up north? Star journalism at its finest once again!

Would love it to happen. Seems like he was a rotational option last season which tells you the strength in depth Ipswich have in attacking areas. It seemed that him and Philogene couldn't be in the same side, as they both enjoy playing on the left-wing and you'd imagine that Ipswich would really have to strengthen their side to even have a small chance of survival. He's still fairly young and proven at this level, certainly better than shoe-horning Hamer into the left-mid slot.

Think the best we could hope for would be a loan. Contracted till 2029, cost Ipswich £15m, (rising to £20m potentially) so no way we would be buying him.

His chances will be limited in the Prem so maybe we could make a move. If Hamer stays and plays more centrally Clarke on the left would be a great fit.

Clarke on loan lw hamer stays and moves centrally
