We have the odd exceptional season like last season,then we always revert to type of being the nearly men,the if only men,the relying on other teams results men..........seen it all before.

Anyone mention we still have a hope of getting into the playoffs,i will have you sectioned.

But we have had a decent season.

If there is one bright side it should make a few sit up and realise that you can’t progress far buying Mid table League one players to play in the Championship.

Our season is now looking very much like Barnsley’s last year, and now they are clinging onto survival in their second season.

McCabe and the Prince need to sort their difffernces out and get the serious investment in for this summer.

If we don’t we are going to be in trouble next season.

Lets face it, Wilder has performed a miracle to get this team close to the playoffs, it was always likely it was going to end in disappointment.

Hopefully we can keep hold of our better players and add some real quality to improve the starting XI and hopefully have a even better season next season.

I can't handle any more of this 'Oh well, it has been a good season anyway' bollocks. The facts are we had a amazing, unexpected first half to the season that has put us in this amazing position within touching distance of the playoffs and the only thing that is stopping is from getting in there is a complete lack of form up front and some sloppy defending. Both of these issues are completely within our ability to improve - we are just not doing it when it matters most. The kind of chances we are routinely missing should be taken by most attacking players in this league, our own included.

We say this but milwall are showing it can be done as well. They are on a good run and can't seem to loose at minute and they haven't had any money to chuck around and spend loads of money on players either and we all know they ride there luck to get up last season and have basically the same team that they come up with.

I think the second half of the season has been a bit rubbish all round really, off and on the pitch.

The players have had too many off days. As has the manager and coaching staff.

The again, you can't expect every player to play at 100% of their ability every game. We're basically lacking all over the pitch compared to a lot of teams in this division. The fact we're still in with a shout of the play-offs is testament to the manager.

We need some decent investment in the summer and keep hold of our better players. If the money isn't there then we have to sell Brooks. He doesn't really fit into the way we play and will no doubt need to be playing most weeks. I'd rather keep him, but if we can get £10 million extra to play with we can potentially sort the problems out.

If the funds aren't there then we'll be lucky to not be facing a relegation battle next year

Difficulty is, we really need, at least:

1 x GK + Moore
1 x LWB, 1 x RWB + Baldock and Stevens
2 x CBs + Stearman, O'Connell, Basham
1 x CM + Fleck, Coutts, Lundstram, Evans
1 x AM + Duffy, Brooks
4 x ST

Holmes and Leonard have not played enough to judge, but the fact they're not getting chances worries me about their ability.

to match this year, we probably need 8-10 additions. That and keeping hold of O'Connell and Fleck.

What worries me most are the forwards. You could argue for keeping Clarke but he needs to play regularly to have any form and I really can;t see it.

Without major investment, I really can't see it happening.

On the plus side, at least we'll not have the play-off misery to wreck another few weeks.

We lost today because we didn't turn up for around 50-60 of 90 minutes. Despite them playing out of their skins, in those 30 minutes we did have we should have comfortably won and we're immensely better than the Dingles.

Leonard has had more game time but is usually being moved around a bit. Centre back, right back, midfield.

Holmes just hasn't been used often enough and I am surprised he hasn't been playing more while Duffy has been out.

I think Wilder went midfielder crazy in January and now he can't fit them all in.
