It might even be a good suggestion to plan ahead for relegation - keep more or less the same squad with a few exceptions / loans.

Spend little / trouser the dollars and future parachute payments.

Go again year after in the Championship.

Not what your average fan will want to hear but do I want us spunking vast amounts on the likes of what Forest did with Lingard ?

Nah !!

UTB
Can you imagine all the “weerz munneh gone” threads if do that?!

There will be some unbelievably good sides in the premier league next season. There will also be 3 current championship sides there.
We’ve scored 5 goals against Burnley and conceded 4, even though we played for over an hour with 10 men in the second match.
We’re 8 points above all the other championship teams.
If we go up and then finish above two current championship teams and one current premier league side next season, it will mean we are at worst 17th in the premier league which would be a huge success. That doesn’t sound impossible.

can we

so we beat spurs because they had an off day
nothing to do with we were better on the day

of course hecky will invest in fresh faces he got doyle mcatee and anel in to get us up
you dont honestly believe hes not got some players in mind to bring in do you
hes got us out of the championship with an embargo in place
I can.
Without Doyle and McAtee we are short of attacking options and overall we lack pace to defend the type of counter attacks we will have to face.
I don’t doubt there are players lined up, but in essence we have “lost” three key players this season simply because they are now well past their best.
Fortunately we will avoid the madness of Forest in spending vast sums on players not up to the required standard.
I would be ecstatic if the summer window somehow regained Doyle and McAtee plus three other real quality players, but sadly that may be a step too far in one window.
None of my views in any way are a criticism of the management team who have done a wonderful job and fully deserve their place in the Premiership.

Next season we could do what Norwich did and spend nothing or spend loads like Forest and Leeds did both might be playing Norwich next season. Buy young players develope them upgrade ground and facilities for training for the next promotion bid. That could apply to about 20 clubs who will yo yo between the prem and championship.

Is'nt that the nature of the beast that is some of the Blades supporters?

That’s quite true, but now there’s a smell of entitlement, which makes said supporters sound like Man Utd, Spurs or Chelsea fans

Not a good look…

The one thing that really annoys is the term its the Blades way

Like we are matching Wednesday stride for stride

Since 2016 we've had one poor season in a soul less empty grounds prem
The other 6 we achieved great prove meets
3 of the last 5 when we go up we have been in the prem. Not that you'd know.
Criticism is justifiable if we'd been a quarter of a century away from the top league

You become a fan to enjoy the high-speed have no parameter for a high.
Just bad and less bad

One used the term a disappointing promotion .. wtf
I don’t know why you’re struggling with the concept of “the Blades way”.

I’m 38 and have watched the Blades for 32 years (ish). In that time we’ve done a lot of stupid things as a club, you’re a lot older so you must have also noticed things don’t always go swimmingly. We know that they happen to other clubs as well, but our nickname is ‘The Blades’ hence why it’s used to describe these occurrences.

In my Blades watching lifetime amongst other things we’ve:

  • Had Reg Brearley in charge
  • Got relegated in ridiculous fashion in the early 1990s
  • Missed out in numerous play off campaigns
  • Sold a lot of our best players at crazy times (Deane/Fjortoft etc.)
  • Had Mike McDonald in charge
  • Taken ages over building John Street
  • Nearly got taken over by a transsexual
  • Missed out by the odd goal in a few cup semis
  • Had Warnock and gone up, then gone down in spectacular fashion and sacked Warnock
  • Gone pretty quickly to League 1
  • Got a great manager in Wilder eventually, done well, then ended up with him as a broken man and having a shocking season breaking some records
  • Found a Saudi Prince with no money
  • Nearly sold the club to FBI’s most wanted
  • Found some Nigerian bloke with no money
  • Gone into an embargo

These are examples of why people talk about ‘the Blades way’ and there are a lot more I’ve not noted above.

Acknowledging that we’ve made some stupid mistakes isn’t tantamount to not enjoying our successes. It’s just we expect things to go wrong based on history.

It’s nothing to do with the pigs and what they’ve done in the same timescale.

He's right though
Like every club we have had our ups and downs
We've had far more good times than most but you don't hear the fannies using any of them as a way of summing up the club
Truth is most of our fan base have been pathetic all season and don't really deserve the effort they get from a group of players and staff who deserve better

Reactions: MKY
People like you said exactly the same in 2019 and we ended up 9th

Reality is we have as good a chance as any club ...we will recruit fresh faces we will compete

I just dont get the need for the levels of negativity we generate as a fan base
We are without doubt the most depressing fans in europe
Disagree, previously we went up in style, we played terrific attacking football and were the media darlings for it.

This season we've basically gone up boring the opposition to death.

Great, we've gone up but let's not kids ourselves that we've been anything like 2019.

It’s a comedic way to describe the fact that ups are normally followed by downs. If you can’t laugh at yourselves you become delusional dickheads like certain other local clubs.

Could name 70 other clubs with worse sob stories..clubs I remember enjoying playing Bury Chesterfield donny Halifax York Portsmouth Charlton oldham etc etc

But since 2016 we've had 6 positive seasons and 1 covid ruined one but it's changed no one's perspective much

Like I said, these events also happen to other clubs. It’s really not that difficult a concept to grasp.

All teams had covid rules not just us.

I couldnt care less if we go zero points next season,. We need the £££ from the PL and we are starting to become a yo-yo club - which is a massive step forward!! Happy days!

It dosent sound impossible , but you can guarantee that the other two clubs that go up will strengthen their squads . With the massive uncertainty around the ownership of us Blades and getting rid of the embargo in good time seen as major problems , can we expect the correct level of recruitment , specially as we have only a few players who look premier class and big improvements are needed anyway

But Middlesborough are a much better side then us and have been ever since Carrick took over. Didn't you know that?

2 more wins, and then we can relax.
Unless Luton loyse toneet obviously.
