I don't want my club to be sold to some Middle Eastern/Far Eastern/Russian oligarch with a dodgy past. A number of clubs who went down that route are now in big trouble.

What the Club needs are additional investors who will put in money alongside McCabe so that we have a balanced Board with no single person in total control. That way the risk is spread.

It's obvious McCabe wants out now,but I doubt very much that he would broker a deal that wasn't a "safe" one for the team he loves.
Maybe that's why we are just drifting along until the right person comes along.

No doubt. He's also said (and Birch confirmed) that his preferred option is for someone to come in alongside him. I think with his son waiting in the wings that he'll want a McCabe interest for some years to come.

Absolutely Fleety, he would want to keep the tag of "the Coca-Cola Chairman" in the family

The Dictionary said:
in·vest (n-vst)
v. in·vest·ed, in·vest·ing, in·vests
v.tr.
1. To commit (money or capital) in order to gain a financial return:

He's plowed in £50m and now he wants his return. Fair do's, its his hard earned and he can do what the fuck he likes with it.

He's gettin a return ........ and sum say overcharging !
The assets even in todays trading conditions are worth more than £50million in my opinion......

Serious mis mannagement to get in this state ?

All this talk of "investment" raises a question.

McCabe has "invested" £50M, and now we're £50M in debt. Don't get hung up on the exact figures - my point is that by "investmnet" what will happen is that any excess money spent, by whoever, will transfer to debt on the club.

So why do we want new investment? If we're £50M in debt, how much do peole want us to go further into debt?

It's not investment we need - it's a period of austerity. A bit like the country - we need to learn to operate off what we generate as a business - not off someone else's wealth. It's never a gift - we need to appreciate that.

Let's face it if we have a big wagebill now, we don't need to be looking to extend that. We need to be questioning and acting on the reasons why such a huge outlay has delivered such mediocre returns. If it's a hangover from the premiership / Robson, we need to flush it out (too many average players earning way above average money) and start again. Then we can make real progress, without "investment".
