After watching the Championship highlights today, I was interested in the Bristol City highlights and the positive way they played. I started asking a few questions:

1) Have they got a better team / sqaud than us?
No. Both in terms of money spent and quality of players we should win here.

2) Have they got better support than us?
Less numbers, better home support (but then they are playing well and winning at the moment). Last year we gained plaudits for our support at home and away and we certainly made a difference. This year we seem to have given up too easlily. We may not like the manager, but the lads deserve better than we currently give them at home.

3) Have they got a better manager than us?
At the moment Gary Johnson is getting it right with limited resources. Robbo has started badly with a decent squad. If you look at experience Robbo's has been in the top flight - but average. Johnson has done well in the lower leagues - a draw maybe?!

I came to the conclusion that it's a confidence thing. Last year Warnock worked hard at instilling fighting spirit even after back-to-back losses. This year we have seen little passion on or off the field - either during matches or in interviews.

The Bristol City team may not be made up of top class signings, but they all know their jobs, work as a team and have great confidence levels. We have none of this at present. Robbo should be focusing on raising confidence levels at least.

I know we are crying out for a midfielder, but we were also saying this last year and we nearly stayed in the Premiership without one!

And the fans deserve more than the players are giving them at home.

I'm seriousley appauled at our fans this season, no self respecting Blade boo us at half time, it's getting a rather big problem, the players are not going to want to play, they know when we are getting frustrated in our cheers, they have a sort of 'C'MOOOOON FOR FUCKS SAKE' sort of tempo and they know.

At the moment alot of teams are playin better than us, but since that win at Leicester we seem to have built up some confidence, and think that away matches are not always going to be negative results. I also noticed at Hull that Robbo got some passion he seemed to be giving it his all when the penalty decision came about, and he never left the pitch side, aswell as saying (in a nut shell) that the ref was aweful and it should have never been a penalty, things are lookin a lil promising...but i dont want to get ahead of myself.

Luckily for us the majority of the squad know its not over till that whistle goes, a prime example would be Cardiff the other week

I s'pose colchester we can take with a pinch of salt bein our first game...the palace and scunthorpe i guess not...but the cardiff match for me indicated we still have that bit of warnock left in us tellin us to never stop till that final whistle goes

robson is trying to get that out of them, wanting a new style of play, passing it about instead of getting stuck in.
