When McCabe first took this on many said he was wasting his time and money. He was right, they were wrong. The club will be financially sound for along time to come. I will look forward to what will happen on the field.

I hardly think a club the size of Sheffield United can honestly put their financial security down to getting a couple of million quid extra a year. If the amount that McCabe tried to get as compensation because that is how much the relegation and stuff to do with it cost the club, surely this deal would mean you're still about 30-40 million out of pocket?

I think what was meant was that since he arrived, he has changed the finances to such a point that we are financially safe, which as few as 15 years ago was far, far, far from the case. I can remember Dave Bassett having to use his own money to help finance the deal which brought Brian Gayle to the Lane in 1991 from Ipswich, for instance.

Whatever and however we get any cash from you guys certainly won't be the reason why we're now financially secure.

Exactly. The payout from West Ham won't be essential to our financial well-being, far from it. It's more like a bonus at Christmas. Nice, but not life-or-death.

Personally I'm glad it's over and done with, both clubs can to a certain extent concentrate on playing football. As to the figure agreed on does it really matter how much or over how long it is going to be paid and for what reasons, only to you West ham fans I suspect. We all know how these things work the guilty party (W Ham) know we have em by the balls and offer £10m, we make a counter claim for £45m, both parties know these figures are unacceptable to each other and are the starting bids for negotiations. I would imagine the most likely outcome is £15m up front and a further £10m over the next few years or if new owners take over at West Ham. Such a settlement will not mean the end of W Ham, sure it will hurt if the bleating coming from down south is anything to go by. For us it doesn't make a lot of difference we never really expected to get anything and we are financially stable with or without the Tevez cash and we certainly don't expect it to be invested in big name players. What the hammers fans should realise is that we Sheffield Utd are not to blame here, but the corrupt board and owner of their own club are the ones that have let them down badly, shit sticks and will do for many a year to a certain extent I feel sorry the fans. When we get back into the Premiership at least we will be able to hold our heads high whether we win or lose knowing our team have done so the right way and as sportsmen not cheats. West Ham ? is this the end of it for them maybe maybe not, the corrupt Premier League washed it's hands of Sheffield Utd and they could do the same to West Ham if it means they come out of it sqeaky clean. If there is one thing on this Earth more corrupt than a West Ham boardroom it is the boardroom at Premier League headquarters.
