Can't grumble at that.
Yes it's another game without a win, but that performance was top draw. We've played a good side, and deserved to win comfortably. We aren't getting the rub of the green at the minute, that much is obvious, but anyone who was disappointed with that performance was watching a different game to me. (Not the result, the performance). Yes the result was clearly not what we wanted, but if we can maintain that level of effort, intensity & quality on the ball then we'll win far more games than we'll lose this season.
Without the red card we'd have gone on to win that game, no doubt in my mind. If one of the 3-4 strikes that hit the woodwork go in, we'd have gone on to win. But these are the fine margins of playing in probably the most competitive league in the world.
The only criticism I have is their 1st goal, another from long range. After 2-3 had gone in in recent weeks I thought we we're being very unlucky, after 5-6 have gone in it's more of a concern. In league 1 you could get away with giving players a bit of space 25 yards out, it's now very apparent you can't in the championship. If you give quality players time & space at this level, they will hurt you more often than not.
That aside I was more than happy with today's performance, we keep that up & we'll soon be back to winning ways.
