From producer of fine musicianship from the likes of Donovan, Minogue and the Legendary Dick Spatsley, to the chairman/owner of such a wonderful football club as The MK Dons....

By the way, what's Stock & Aitken up to?

I agree with OP. i was talking about my trip at work today to some ours some dark side & was saying how it really irrated me was how annoyingly good it was & why did the bloody theives in milton keynes have to get it. As i wanted to go come back say how horrible it was. But it was easy to find, looked nice, people were nice, plenty around it, tonnes of parking. Even on upper tier i had a great view, with alot more leg room than i get at lane (not that it was used being stood up haha). The stewards were annoyingly quick to react hastly extending the away end for utd fans moved

Traffic was minimal we had some leaving the ground & joining motorway. That was it for 2 1/2hrs, which is surprising when you have equlivant of meadowhall retail park to left, handsworth asda to right & bramall lane in the middle. If belonged to anyone else but bloody theives in milton keynes, i would say it was 1 of the best away grounds ive been too

Yep. In 1988. That's where the stories start to get muddy.

The first link explains how Merton Council enabled Hamman to sell Plough Lane. And the apology they made to AFCW.

The second goes into more detail over the deal which saw the council accept £800k to let the planning change with little stipulation or prohibitions. Fancy that!

Maybe the real bogeymen should be MBC and Hamman rather Winkleman who was ultimately able to do the deal due to a few quid changing hands in the late eighties?

Food for thought?

It is all food for thought.

I am of the belief that the plan was always to find a way of moving Wimbledon regardless of their financial situation dating back to when Noades first spoke to the Milton Keynes Development Corporation.

What is tragic though is the MKDSA trying to justify moving Wimbledon.

Surely all the approbrium should be about MKD just taking the league place and the authorities part in that, rather than constantly painting Winkleman as the bogeyman?

Think this is a fair point.

What's more tragic is MBC enabling it all to happen. They have apologised all these years on remember.
