I like most were very disappointed with what happened last season and was glad when the Ipswich game was wrapped up and it was over for another year - I swore down that I wouldn't renew but have caved in and I will be there for another 23 games next year.
But this got me thinking, what has changed my mind??? I think after the play-off final we were obviously optimistic for the new season and our outline was promotion, but because we have less resources this year and expectations have dwindled my optimism has returned, we are back to square one (you may think this is a bad thing but I would disagree). New signings breathes new ideas and new hope - the signings, although not bank breaking, are positive ones and I feel now the team has less pressure to succeed, they can play with more freedom and in the correct manner.
What i'm getting at is, as Blades, we're used to our fair share of dismal performances and disappointments and after a season in the so called "promised land" we thought we were above everyone thanks to KM's promise of Europe in 5 years. But, the less we expect the more we will gain - is the saying, under promise and over deliver.
Some may call me a clapper, I like to think a realist. I cannot wait for it to begin, especially after that shower in South Africa. UTB:thumbup:
