Although I don't think we will go after all 3 and maybe only 1 if we do, on that note if we did more defending this year we could have been up there. Burnley defended their way to Promotion last season and were good at it. Got some stick for it but "Parker ball" did a good job in this division. We did the same under Hecky's promotion although helped out by N'Diaye masterclasses, we were defensively solid losing only 9 all season in the league with the largest margin of loss being by 2 goals.

Should go no where near Hamza and much as I love him I’d Souter a safe buy? As for Philips, meh. Could turn out good and be gone in Jan could turn out a disaster and we’re stuck with him all season.

All best Wilder could come up with, chuck in Walker and he’s used all his magic beans

Sigh. It’s all just a little boring & predictable isn’t it - Souza is the only one that we should really be interested in bringing back. The rest have too many questions marks (fitness, injuries, wages) for a sensible club to spend a limited budget on.

We’ll have a good quota of centre midfielders that can’t dribble, carry possession or score at least (Jairo, Rothwell, Hamza, Phillips & Souza).

Pep used Walker as a defensive midfielder on several occasions.

As he has lost some of that explosive pace he may transition to that kind of role. Less reliant on pace but vast experience and more time on the ball in the championship.
