Can't he see that we have to have a creative player on the pitch ?
Can't he see that without Duffy , we perform at half our normal level ?
So why didn't Duffy start ?
In fact , why didn't Sharp start and get replaced later when he tires , a formula that worked so well in the first half of the season ?
If you don't think that Chris is losing the plot , even just a little bit , ask yourself why signed Ricky Holmes.
And why he doesn't play him - the nearest thing to Duffy that we've got , albeit some way behind Duff.
Why don't the media ask him these obvious questions.

Questioning Chris will be seen as heresy on here , but at the risk of opprobrium , I've got to wonder about some of his decisions.

You're right about Holmes. He was an established player who Wilder knew all about, not some kid who he was taking a gamble on. The JTW defined our season but not in the way we were hoping for.

duffy can’t play every game for whatever reason .. we’re not being told
perhaps he gas a medical condition because frankly he’s prem standard and shouldn’t be here otherwise?

Wait a god darned minute.... brooks started off Leon, according to the sky sports line up. Are we saying that brooks isn’t creative, a game changer? When all people have banged on about for weeks/ months is that brooks has to start...

Wilder and knill are far from blind, they’re the most progressive, creative and attack minded management team weve had in my 40 years, however we’ve been spoilt for the last two seasons because of the way we play.

I think it was raul who said it in another thread, the players are knackered. Completely agree.

We have a strong first team but when they’re not playing or off form, we have struggled

At Brentford I thought we were back to the wilder style we all love, wing backs getting forward, centre halves stepping up, but there were lots of errors in poor conditions.

Creativity is needed just as much with the wing backs as much as in the Duffy role or the deeper striker playing off Leon. We need good back ups for Stevens and Baldock

A creative player on the pitch, like Brooks? Duffy was coming back from a few games out with a groin injury. And presume you said the same after Norwich, probably one of the best displays of football all season with the solid 3 and no No.10?

But we MUST play Brooks. The fans say so

I don't agree with the "tired" comments. These are professional athletes with good diets and conditioning coaches. They have all pretty much had a rest at one time or another. If we played 3 or 4 games in a week then I'd agree about the tiredness, as we stand they should be fine.

Brooks is NOT a Duffy , nowhere near.
He can't hold the ball against the challenge of 3 opponents , whilst using his footy brain to work out the next phase of play and then execute a sublime pass or through ball or cross.
Brooks is a young fast ghosting runner , who can latch onto one of Duffy's perfectly weighted through balls and use his undoubted skill to finish in the corner.
I would have thought my responders would have cited Fleck as the creative player in the first half yesterday , but Fleck was twice the player in the second half with his mate Duffy by his side.
Obviously Wilder recognized his own error and hooked the ineffective Brooks and later Evans (although it could have been Lundstrom) in order to play what should have been his starting eleven.
I love CW to bits , but surely one can pass comment on some of his starting elevens - it's not the first time he's had to use up his substitutes to correct his own mistake.
We were a COMPLETELY different side in the second half , by just 2 changes.
Surely he won't pick the same starting eleven on Tuesday night , when anything but a win will end our PO hopes.
And having beaten Boro , anything but a victory over Millwall will end them on Saturday.
So he mustn't be wasting his subs to correct the initial make-up of the team.

*googles opprobrium*

Exactly. He’s been injured and never generally lasts 90 minutes either way.

A bizarre OP.

think we are punching way above our weight
in boxing terms we came in this division as light weights and have had to battle some heavy and super heavywights with a lot more punching power
but the killer blow has not been delivered yet , but we will need to get a lucky punch in to get in play offs now

its not impossible but we will need others to falter, ie even if we beat boro we will still be unable to knock them out now

15 points left we probably need 13 of them to be in with a chance
lets hope we dont get any dodgy Colombian refs

Are we still allowed to play Duffy in midfield AND Brooks off of a lone striker - could work well against the “lesser” teams when the impetus is on us to attack (for example, see hillsbro) ?? Or is this no longer an option in a post Couttsy world?

Second half it was one way traffic they looked knackered, heavy legged and gone. Duffy ran them ragged. What the fuck happened ? I was sat low in the away end so everything looked blurred, need stronger glasses.

And please don’t take the name of the Lord God in vain, you”ll burn for all eternity.

Bloody hell, if you’re not saying that we’ll win every game, the play offs and the PL next year then I’m suicidal.

I do wonder why he bought Holmes....he looked good vs Wolves....not been in it much since....as for Wilson, dear dear( he thinks he is going to onget in the Manure team ....he needs to have his brain checked!!

Agree we were all over them when Duffy came on. What happened?

Organisation , game management and discipline are the three areas Neil Harris at Millwall explains behind his teams unbeaten 15 game run. We have been winning in the last three games and only ended up with two points. Add late failures against Villa and Bristol City and it explains where we are going wrong. For all the talk about taking chances if we'd seen games out better then we would be higher up the league.

game management.. we're new to it. we will learn.. we were even astonished at Norwich's antics earlier in the season as they were new to us..
in L1 you don't do game management.. you just go up the end and score again ;)

Play them both in the 11 to get the best out of each.
