What i don't get Joe is , why, if he isn't getting the ball or any service, then why not drop deep and try to get involved? I played as a striker [only sunday football] but went looking for the ball if nowt was happening. We simply have to pray the Danny Ings can recover quickly and get playing because we genuinely have one usable striker in Campbell and at the minute (like many of our players) its just not working for him. As soon as I see Cannon readying himself to come on the pitch I tap out because there is zero that he brings to the team. We don't create a lot of chances, but he barely breaks sweat and when he does get the ball he invariably loses it. A monumnetal error in recruiting him last season by everyone involved.
Totally baffling why we signed him. We seemed to get into a bidding war with Sunderland and unfortunately we won.Cam someone answer this question why was he scoring goals at Stoke and not here. Is it to do with style of play they used or what. Only because if you buy a player you should know their strengths and what type of support he was given to enable him to score.
Don’t think he is crap, just don’t think we are playing to his strengths. So begs the question why buy him if we ain’t going to play to his strengths. Or play him at all. As others have said, why have players who moved on when often called crap and are doing well.
The challenge for Wilder is to make a decision on what style of play he wants and then make sure he has the players to do it. If not able to do then he needs to look at strengths and weaknesses of his team and adapt the style of play to try and produce a successful team.
Has someone else said, January could be interesting.
He was good in his first spell, next to Deano, didn't he score v the pigs?A
Adrian Littlejohn springs to mind but even he was at least quick.
Had a couple of years at Millwall 16 goals then a couple of years at Plymouth 15 goals. So not prolific but decent.Didn't he end up doing half decent that season at Milwall?
Littlejohn doesn't deserve to be in this thread!A

He almost scored for us. Again another quickly dispatched by Warnock once he realised what he had (or didn't have!).
This. As poor as he's been, probably unfair to completely write him off until (IF!) we see him played in a front 2. Annoyingly I think Moore would of been a good partner for him, not the best, but he was the best fit out of what we had.as a lone striker, he simply cannot play that role.
If we put him in a two, he might surprise and get a few goals... like he did at stoke
He is not a lone striker and or a winger
I'll get pelters for this but if I was Wilder right now, I'd seriously consider signing Patrick Bamford. As you say, our options are scarily weak once you remove Campbell from the equation (and he's looked poor and unfit), and we can't buy or loan anyone. Bamford is a free agent, maybe Wilder could get a tune out of him.We simply have to pray the Danny Ings can recover quickly and get playing because we genuinely have one usable striker in Campbell and at the minute (like many of our players) its just not working for him. For Stoke his shots hit the target 50% of the time which is an exceptionally high rate (team average is usually between 30-35%). For United, he's at 25%. There are no other noticeable differences in his underlying numbers and against his peers, he's a terrible all round footballerCam someone answer this question why was he scoring goals at Stoke and not here. Looks like some random bloke down the pub on a Tuesday evening playing skittlesYes. But hes under contract so we are fecked. I'm not into personal criticism but for the love of God....who thought signing him was a good idea and who sanctioned the deal?? As an aside....he reminds me of someone I work with. .tries to look busy but we all know they are useless...none of us want them there but they have a contract....
The amazing Laurens Ten Heuvel. Signed from Telstar. May have been the record label. May have been the football team. I used to sit on the Kop and a guy behind us called him Ten Hoovers. Funny what sticks in your memory!Who the feck is that
