Is this season a proper football season

I don’t think it really matters what it counts as. It’s certainly a football season like no other but it’s affected every single club and we haven’t been good enough to adapt to it.

If anything, I’d say last season is more likely to have an asterix next to it given there was a massive gap where fixtures were stopped.

The biggest difference this season has been that there have been no fans, the structure of the fixture schedule has remained relatively similar this season.

Over here there's an absolutely blinding brand of vegan sausage, and as for "Bastard Burgers" Oh Sweet Mama they are awesome.



Anyway, addressing the OP I think what it boils down to is this: The fans definitely lifted the players to go and perform to their highest possible level, BUT without the fans I'm afraid they have been exposed to be what they really are, and that's half decent Championship footballers.

Covid has been a leveller. All teams playing in identical conditions. It's therefore all been about quality, tactics and talent, whereas before our pride and passion made up for our obvious deficiencies in those areas. We haven't seen pride and passion this season, no "bodies on the line" or "taking one for the team" like last season.

In the end then, we are not a good enough team to be in the Premier League, but last season showed what real desire and real support can do for a team's performances.

If that's what it takes lads, sing yer bleedin' hearts out when we get back in the ground. UTB!

Lived in the high Arctic mate, also on the South Coast (hence malmo). Currently in Karlstad area while my house gets built back down near Ystad

At the risk of hijacking this thread and turning it into a travelogue, I envy you. Been as far north as Gävle. Hope to return ond day once all this Covid nonsense is hopefully over or at least manageable.
