Is this normal at every home match?

At half time I always stay at my seat talking about whatever with the people around me, never need to pay a visit to the bog or go for a drink, however on Friday I needed to go and left it until around 10 minutes into the second half thinking it wont be busy, outside the back of the kop was busy but when I went down the stairway the amount of fans stood drinking and just, well socialising was amazing there must have been two or three hundred, just as I walked into the bog I overhead somebody say is it still 0-0! Why didn't they go and watch it in the boozer? As I say is this normal practice and how long do they stay there?

2 or 300 .. and one pie ;)

I often nip to the loos early second half when there is a stoppage, as I sit on the end of a row in the south stand. There are always quite a few people having a drink and watching the match on a tiny TV screen. Always strikes me as a bit strange.

There was a guy who used to sit near me, and he's far from the only one, who'd turn up five minutes into every game half-cut, leave mid first half for a slash (his bladder was like clockwork for hitting the 25 minute mark on the scoreboard), and then leave five minutes early to get a beer before turning up late for the second half. He'd then leave five minutes before the end regardless of score or performance.

I don't know why some people waste their time and money ruining a good Saturday afternoon drink with a football game.

Always a few in South Stand who spend a lot of time on the concourse.

It's far worse at away games. Makes you wonder why some bother travelling.

Can only be explained by the fairweather element of our support.

You must sit near me because that describes the bloke in front of me to a tee

We had a guy in his 50's / 60's I've never seen before sat next to us.

Every time someone swore, in our vicinity, he swivelled round with a shocked look on his face, like he'd never heard it before.

He left at half time and never came back. I'm not sure he had ever been to a game of football before.

Bog moaning time .Friday night halftime . , kop entrance south bogs , entrance / exit like sardines , middle urinals not used due to lack of access , one-way system required here , simple really .

I used to do that. In fact, it used to be part of what I looked forward to, part of what made my afternoon at the match the best few hours of the week.

These days, my afternoon at the match has been replaced by my "matchday experience", which means that at HT I have to endure that twat Sinclair bellowing nonsense in my ear and, when he's not bellowing, playing his shit music at earsplitting and conversation-defying volume. This means that at HT I don't generally talk to people anymore, and instead head to the concourse where I usually stand on my own and read the programme.

I'm not by nature a progress-defyer. But this is not progress.

That was ridiculous. The South Stand side of the Kop was exactly the same – a load of people trickling in via the exit, probably missing the start of the 2nd half as a result. Though the benefit of that is that for people with a brain cell to move through the food queues to the completely open entrance, it was a speedy return trip.

You pays your money and you takes your choice...

Up to them isn't it??

Lot easier when we are all standing again or the man with the beer barrel on his back comes round like in Germany.

Personally, the beer isn't worth queuing for, especially at that price but as I say up to them,,

Booze first, Blades second. That's how it is for quite a lot of our 'fans'.

I'll also throw into this thread that there were a number of people leaving with 5 minutes to go on Friday. How inexplicable and pathetic is that? Then their little faces look shocked when anybody mocks them...
