Is this a good idea? - Flags in stadium

I’ve seen this on twitter and thought it was a good idea for the empty grounds. Should we be looking to do the same or does it seem a bit pointless???
 



We should make every effort to decorate the stands, and invite anyone with flags to bring them down.

Depends what the point of it is?

Is it to make the place feel less empty? If so, it doesn't achieve that for me.

Is it for decoration? Fine, then let the fans bring them down. It will do no harm.

Is it to acknowledge the passing of loved ones who supported the club? If so then I think it's got some purpose, but also there would need to be some direction given as to what is an acceptable size flag? It wouldn't take many of that size to cover one end of the ground - and how would some fans feel if their little flag with Uncle Albert on it, was buried beneath a monster flag like this? There'd also have to be some guidance given in terms of fire safety requirements as well - not that there's much chance of one catching fire with no supporters in the stadium - but you can bet your life that it would be necessary.

Personally I'm not in favour of it. I'm not against it, but it doesn't seem very worthwhile to me. If I should snuff it before Bramall Lane re-opens to fans, I really wouldn't want my loved ones wasting their money on something like this.

Then again, I have very little empathy so I'm probably not the best person to ask. ;)
 
Wouldn’t be against this.

I enjoy seeing all the flags at matches over the years and it’s a visual way to demonstrate our support for the lads even if we can’t be there in person. There must be hundreds of united flags in circulation
 
Kind of nice idea. But I'd say no.
Its still an empty ground, but means 100s of people going to the ground , stewarding, distancing etc etc
 
One bright spot at our play-off finals has been seeing all the Blades flags. I think it looks great and always thought we should do more to allow them in the Lane. I know there are safety issues though.
 
I think its a good idea, always looked well at playoff finals etc. You have to have a fire cert for them to be brought in which could be awkward to organise under the current situation.
 



A mate of mine works in Screwfix & he told me that a shifty looking Thai fella just been in asking if they had anything suitable for attaching 500,000 flags to rusty steelwork & faded plastic. He then asked if he could pay for it last year using a business account that he’s opening next week. Smells a bit fishy to me ( as did the Thai fella apparently ).
 
Aren't the PL insisting that sponsors banners will be covering the front seats in each stand, i.e. the parts the TV cameras pick up?
