It would have been better to have kept Blackman AND signed the others.
According to McCabe's interview on Radio Sheffield this was a possibility.
If it wasn't a possibility he shouldn't have said it.
If he hadn't said it, the reaction to the overall transfer dealings would have been more positive.

Its not what we have done (which is on the face of it not bad), its the way we go about our business. We don't have to sell and then all at the last minute guess what, we do. Its not about clapper/knocker because we all want promotion. Its about the years of lies that McCabe spins out and makes his managers carry the can for it all.

Lets remember we were building a team around youth. We bought a 23 year old striker and he was scoring goals. Then we sold him and replaced him with a 26 year old who doesn't actually belong to us. I don't class that as progress but if we get promoted then it matters a bit less.

Just because we sold him, doesn't mean that wasn't a possibility. A club came in for one of our players with a bid much higher than his market value, and we took it. Replaced him with a couple of players who are proven at this level, a higher level or equivilent. The fact is, we've definitely come out of the window with a better squad and a bit of money in our back pockets.

I refer you to Exhibit A regarding my point about Blackman!

I stand by that it was good business.

My money is on Blackman being as much use in the Premier as Jordan Slew was (if he had actualy turned out for Blackburn). Jordan Slew has shown that it is sometimes a good idea to sell when a bid comes in at more than he is actually worth. He can't even last on the pitch for Rotherham more than 60minutes nowadays without being subbed.

I think that Murphy and Miller will both be more use to us than Blackman. People forget that the majority of goals that Blackman scored for us were penalties. Other than that 4 goals in open play isn't a particularly good tally going into the final third of the season. I also bet that he put more shots high and wide into the Kop than the number of goals he scored, with penalties included

The team has had a much need injection of pace from the start and the bench. I personally think we are stronger as a squad. Murphy settling down could make the biggest difference.

IT AUGERS WELL BUT THE NEXT 10 WEEKS WILL BE THE JUDGE

I dont think we will be far off , but no matter what you need the breaks
an eager judge ( he could have pondered over judgement for 3 days , and in honesty a wandering dick ) cost us last time out, and who knows if a contentious red card or dubious goal could do for us , or go our way

Because he took the penalties. Kitson has more from open play than Blackman. He wasnt really scoring from open play either when he was playing as a striker.
