Just a thought, with the amount of centre backs we have signed tonight are we potentially switching to a 5 at the back?

Just makes me wonder as we now have Mee, Zatterstrom, Tanganga, Godfrey who can play CB, McGuinnes and Bindon. That’s 6 centre backs and if we played a 4 at the back then obviously only 2 can start. Just seems a bit too many which suggests Selles has changed formation. Or maybe we are just not use to having so much centre back cover!!

Either way it’s positive, UTB

Yeah he’s playing 6 centre backs in two banks of three. Revolutionary

It does make me think we are going to 3 at the back but maybe we may loan Nils out?
If we are sticking to 4-3-3 then yes we definitely should however as long as it includes the option to recall him in January if bodies are light then it’s a yes from me

Choose any three from Godfrey, Tanganga, McGuiness and Mee and you're looking at one of the best defences in the division. He said Zatterstrom was getting up to the pace and power needed so is one for the future and I'm ok with that.

The problem with us playing 3-5-2 is that we only have Seriki who is a recognised right wing back.

I don’t really see Godfrey as a wing back and Ogbene is referred to on the official site as an exciting forward player. Why would we sign an orthodox winger/wide forward if we’re planning to play with wing backs?

Any injury to Seriki or even just tiredness and we would have to change the whole shape of the team and bring in a different type of player.

I think Selles will stick with his 4-3-3 until he’s sacked and any new manager will still have to play 4 at the back. Probably 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2.

Zatterstrom and Binden will be left wondering why the hell they were signed. They won’t both get on the bench most weeks and no cup games until January.

Think Zatterstrom will be a development player and Godfrey at RB (backed up by Seriki). I think McGuinness and Tanganga will be first choice with Mee as back up (or maybe Mee instead of McGuinness). Unfortunately for Bindon I think he's now back up for the back up if we stick with 4 at the back.

Certainly got enough CB's and hopefully the right midfielders to play a proper 3 at the back formation, a 3-4-3 with wingers might be best as it could easily switch into a 3-4-1-2 mid game if needed.

3-4-3 (with wingers)

--------------------Cooper
--------Godfrey-Tanganga-Mee
Ogbene----Matos--Peck----Burrows
------Chong---Campbell---Hamer

Subs: A Davies, Seriki, McGuinness, Bindon, Soumare, O'Hare, Ings, Barry, Cannon

Ideal changes mid game: Barry for Hamer, Soumare for Matos, Ings/Cannon for Campbell, O'Hare for Peck, Seriki for Ogbene

Ipswich supporters also saying he was great in midfield, but pretty ineffective as a wing back.

Lets face it, he has to do something. If we start the game against ipswich with 4-3-3 (peck, hamer and o'hare in midfield) he won't make kick off before the chants are ringing out.

I hope he does something, I hope it works, I hope we see progress.

vertical, aggressive football... with overlapping CBs anyone?

I'd prefer 3 at the back, but I suspect it's going to be 4-3-3 with Tanganga, Bindon, McGuinness and Mee competing for the 2 CB slots. Zatterstrom is one for the future and Godfrey will be first choice RB.

Ogbene can definitely play as a right wingback.

This is pretty much exactly what I'd play, although I think I'd start with Seriki and push Ogbene further forward. Brooks on bench for Cannon.
