Is our transfer inactivity beginning to worry anyone?

Last season we had a team with little or no Premier league experience, this season we will know what it is all about the team will have improved naturally. Much more to come yet from McBurnie, Moose Osborn Robinson and Berge who were all new to the team and system last season.
West ham have signed (one) 1 player same as Villa (a player from league 2 Exeter) ffs and of the three promoted teams only the Scum are splashing out two of their signings were there last season, the CB is a replacement for White, and Rodrigo someone has had their pants down 🤣

A lot of names we've been linked with seem to be going elsewhere, I think we just have to hope (as i expect) that the links had no substance to them

No
It was our own fault for over shooting

As a Premier League club we shouldn't be trying to sign the best that the Championship has to offer

Average Championship players will be quite sufficient to get the numbers in and have some "Versatility"
They'll be
Glad to be here

Have an excellent attitude thanks to the 25% wage increase that they never expected in a million years

And won't be going anywhere better so we eliminate a proper Premier League club from the race

We can't afford better unless it's from Europe and even now it seems there are no bargains to be picked up there.
We can want better all we like but if we can't afford it it's not worth risking the club for. Our owner is worth £100m that is nothing in EPL football terms there are 18 billionaire owners in the EPL and even with all the money Sky dish out we will still always be the poor boys unless we get a new owner.

Mmmmmm......you really must try harder, which is, obviously, based on the premise that you know more than eagerly offering empty slogans or intellectual fluff dressed up as a serious idea.

If you've paid attention, as so many regulars on here have done, and which you've been conspicuous by your silence all the while Wilder took us to the upper levels of the Premier Division on relatively meagre amounts of money, should it need repeating. For you to mention 'has-beens' reveals an acute lack of what our manager has had to work with. Let's be clear, we do not have a wealthy owner, at least by Prem standards. We do not have the luxury of having an owner who will put their hand in their pocket and subsidise the acquisition of a highly valued player. To suggest that the club lacks ambition is naive and far removed from the knowledge that you'd think would be clear as day?

We're what we are, and the fact that we momentarily toyed with the idea of European football seems to have dropped like a lead weight and convinced a few, mostly younger supporters, that this would happen regularly. Take my word, it won't, at least not until the moment arrives when our infrastructure changes and we have genuinely aspirational and wealthy owners. Given that we've managed to arrive in the Prem and remain there, at least for another season, is a fantastic achievement. No matter what clueless drivel is posted, base your opinions on facts rather than uninformed ignorance.

Just to underline, I understand why posters such as yourself view money as the cure-all for a club's problems. Sadly that view is misguided. Key in this equation is the quality of manager that a club employs. Look at Aston Villa. They spent well over £100 million last season, yet they escaped relegation by the skin of their teeth. Perhaps you'd like to offer your view of as to why money didn't bring great success in their case? And perhaps you'd care to share your opinion as to why Chris Wilder, with a team littered with 'has-beens', gave our supporters a fantastic season to reflect on and consider what we'll be doing next. Europe? Nah, leave that for the fantasists, but a mid to upper place position in the Prem and you'll find most of us are well pleased with our progress.

Before replying take a deep breath and don't confirm your membership of the dullard's brigade.

personally i can't remember one season at least some fans wer'nt "worried by
our transfer inactivity"
last season and the previous 3 seasons were no exception, and even after we brought in players, i also remember the comedy of "we need a striker desprately"
(we bring in McBurnie) oh not that striker, we need a different striker.
isnt it about time we just let the manager and his team do their thing and rightly or wrongly bring in or ship out the players they think are right, lets be honest CW et al havnt done too badly so far regarding transfers.
UTB and lets see where we are taken this season.

There's no need to shout.

Sheffield United manager, Chris Wilder, says he is “frustrated” with the club’s transfer progress this summer.

The Blades have only signed two new players ahead of the new season starting on September 14. Both are goalkeepers, with Aaron Ramsdale arriving in an £18.5m deal from Bournemouth and Wes Foderingham joining as a free agent from Rangers.

With United’s Premier League opener with Wolverhampton Wanderers less than two weeks’ away, no other new signings are imminent.

“We may have to walk away from some deals, we may have to take our time on deals, but there are definitely targets and they are position-specific reflecting on last season and what we need, what worked and what hasn’t worked,” Wilder told the Yorkshire Post.

“If it means player trading then it means player trading, if it means loan market then it means loans. If it means free transfers or a couple of small deals then that’s the way it’s going to be.

“I am frustrated because I want everybody in – that’s the nature of the business.”

See, sod you lot - Chris agrees wi me!

The bloke who invented transfer windows should face a firing squad! Just look at the discord he has introduced among our supporters.
Seriously, I do understand the reason for its introduction, but it has turned into a proper monster.
It seems to have become the default position for most clubs to refresh their squads every window, with the January window seen as desperation for some faltering clubs.
Why expect wholesale changes twice a year?
With high manager turnover, the new guy will expect to ring changes.
Some players will reach their sell by date and need replacing/upgrading.
Some managers, and clubs who lack patience and perseverance, will demand instant gratification from big money signings.

I don’t see the need for this, especially in a well managed club, with detailed plans for the teams development, and a stable management system. There is also the need to balance our desire for young players to develop, alongside more experienced hands. Players like Billy, Didsy and Jags do so much more behind the scenes than we sometimes give them credit for. You can also guarantee, they will not let the team down in an emergency.

My attitude, sit back and enjoy the ride. We could be stuck with an ex player as manager, who is not as good as his reputation might suggest (cough) ;)

It's frustrating seeing our targets get pipped by richer teams, but really not many clubs have signed anyone. It's difficult. We just have to wait.

Another week or so and all will be revealed says CW.
Five in ? I doubt it but 3 or 4 would be great, with another couple to follow by mid October.
No panic, no worrying, all sorted.

An explosion of signings apparently.

I did a little fist bump and said “get in” when I read that but then it occurred to me... the Lescar isn’t on Eccy Road. Calling bullshit!

Just heard Chris Wilder in an interview on radio Sheffield.three in next week.Mon/Tue. fully fit squad by the time we play Wolves.

Just met a guy at a petrol station , says the Brewster deal is done and dusted and i got double points after filling up !

Winner winner 🐤 Dinner

Well, I've heard we've agreed in principle for Wilder's long term target Barry Oddnob. Apparently according to my mate Mick the Dick who works on Brammel Layne his ex-father in law works in the Copthorne and he's heard from one of the bar staff who knows someone in the club whose telt him that Oddnob and his agent Kenny Spangles can't get HRH and Wilder to agree on what motor he gets from TC Harrisons - he wants a Capri 2.0 GLX and TCH don't have one. THAT is what Wilder is going on about when he says he gets frustrated and who can blame him. Apparently Oddnob also wants one with one of them multi tuned horns an' all and all the Ghia interior, including a fucking eight track. Cheeky cunt. Who does he think he's signing for? Man U?

I say bin him and sign Sergio Testacles from Real Aynus of Portugal. 102 international caps, 4 goals last season (he picked up a knock in September and was out until May) and would be a natural successor to Billy. Can also play in Bash's position if cornered and apparently is a fucking ace back up keeper. AND he's only 35.

Sign him Wilder!
