Kennedy played at Port Vale but NA said about both Tuesday and yesterday we were down to basically the only fit players we had.

As Kennedy didn't feature in either game in any capacity I take it this means he is injured again.

:-(

I guess so as McGahey got on the bench, if he were fit he'd be ahead of McGahey i'd imagine.

McGaheys performance second half did him the world of good though.

It's not just that McGahey played, it's that Adkins said all our fit players (minus Collins on Tuesday) were in the team.

Therefore, Watson, I deduce, with a heavy heart, that Kennedy is not fit.

According to the man himself, he isn't injured (but perhaps not fit enough to play yesterday) – and will be involved in the next U21s game. I think he's understandably being handled with care by Adkins – presumably the plan is to gradually build up his game time. I'm sure plenty would like him involved asap given our continued troubles with the middle of defence, but we've probably got to be patient with his recovery.

If he played at Port Vale and then was rested in the mid week so would have expected him ready the following week. If he cannot play Saturday to Saturday still; then it is a worry. I wish it was fitness but sadly I don't think it is.

I am afraid United need to be ready to move on Kennedy, Wallace (J), Cuvelier and even Coutts who simply cannot run. None of those 4 are going to give us more than 20 games this season; maybe not even between them. Theres a lot of wage sat on the sidelines at the moment and United have to be more ruthless now. We have way too many passengers who are on a good wage not contributing enough.

Did we ever find out how bad Brayfords knee was after the under 21s game?

Unfortunately we're going to have to move him on next summer.

Same with some others. It doesn't matter how much they cost, how good they might have been, how good they can be when fit. We have to be realistic. We're in no position to be carrying passengers.

Where did you hear this?

The plan of building up game time makes sense.

There's a thread entitled JB on this I think. Basically not as bad as first feared, without going into details.
That's all I need to know, thank pal.
I know he's going to have set backs but with knees you've got to be so careful! I can't wait for him back but it's pointless losing him for the Christmas period and the run in.

Being a physio is one of Adkins strong points. He does seem to handle injured players in a good way.

You say that, and I recall someone else suggesting that his physio past gave him an advantage over other managers, though I recall Adkins saying the other day (in relation to Flynn I think) that he might have rushed him back too quickly, which was a surprising admission.

4 decent players on their day, but sadly have to agree Deadbat, a line has to be drawn sometime.
