Is CW a bottler?

Just to put that into context, the Oxford chairman told Wilder not to talk about ‘certain things’ which is what he is referring to when he says he didn’t like what was happening. It wasn’t a reference to money or backing him. Wilder wants to, and will, talk about, quite openly, subjects that need talking about. Wilder then went on to say he wouldn’t be a patsy for anyone....

Chris wilder loves this club more than anyone. And that's why he has said what he said. He knows the fans aren't daft, because he is one! He knows we need decent investment. Otherwise we will again be stuck in this division for a long time again. My worry is that its just too close to home for Chris. It means too much for him to do his job properly

If we had won a couple more games this shit wouldn't have surfaced......

It's a funny 'un - we could've easily gained 6/7 more points this season which may have seen us in the play-offs. The team we were beaten by yesterday largely recruits from Scotland, Ireland and Lower Leagues and are still in the hunt, so to speak.

I think Wilder's exerting pressure because he can. He knows the board won't be forgiven if they oversee his leaving. At the same time, why walk out on us? That would be bizarre - maybe not as forgivable as Chris thinks? I'd rather him leave to get a 'big' job than leave because of boardroom issues.

It would be stupid of the board to allow him to leave, but I don't think - for his or our sake - he should just up sticks and leave. I don't think that would endear him to the fans either, certainly not me anyway.

Surely all of this is trying to shake things up now, in the hope everything settles come August.

Well, either that or he's very publicly putting himself in the shop window .

Could be. I dont know what goes on with his head

But if i know 1 thing from Chris over the last 2 years. He us very competive, wants everyone to reach their potential & doesnt settle for mediocrity. He feels that like us if we want to maintain this level & have another assulant on playoffs we need investment

None of us truly knows Wilders motivation here . Was his interview that of a true Blade who only wants what's best for ' us ' . Or was it a move by someone who is putting the feelers out for a new job ? Who knows . The only thing I'm clear about is this . CW should have privately approached both KM and The Prince and pointedly asked what's going on and what the plan is . If neither respond. Or if only one does . Or both respond and he's not happy THEN comment in the way he has . Commenting in the way he has leaves me feeling very uneasy about his actuall motivation .

The gaffer's just saying what needs to be said. Wilder's at the wheel and needs to know what the crack is so he can crack on.

That is all.

So he asks them during a live radio interview ! I thought Mr Wilder claims he's always learning from his mistakes . Well after his faux paux after the Hull match he clearly hasn't. All he's done is wind everyone up and guess what ? He and us are still no where near getting the answers we all want . He may aswell post on here with the rest of us for all the good his " questions " have done .

I am depressed now .Is that normal for a blade ?
Do the club employ counsellors for fans and what's the waiting list like ?
My summer is going to be seesawing all over . I saw the light /the promised land and now we are going back into the desert of league 1 /championship relegation fight for 40 years . The fire was there and was leading us to the manna of milk & honey and free greasy chip butties. Alas we got sold fools gold/camel shit promises and have been worshipping a false god, a golden calf that was actually a ten bob millionaire in the cold light of a wet Yorkshire morning who didn't shit money all over Bdtbl. At least we won't go short on tissues to wipe the rolling tears and dried camel shit that gets kicked in our faces .

Why do we get these daft posts before anything's even happened?

Wait and see for chuffs sake.

P.s. any person that takes on bottom of the football league Northampton, who were in administration, leaving an easier job at a bigger club... is not a bottler

For me it's not a big deal

Going by what has happened with Sunderland & Coleman, there might be another angle to this. :(

Hedging his bets.

Either it accelerates the boardroom business, or it gives him a plausible excuse for going to West Brom.

Think Wilko late 80s.

Finally got to listen rather than all the quotes. I think this isnt a problem that occured over night been going since january or February . So im sure he has try to contract but im assuming he been getting no answer so had to go public & as he says like fans know what we need & that we need to get more players like Stearman to take us to the next level. Like when 12 months ago as he says he said as great a job as done mcnulty & scrougal were. They had to be "upgraded"

This for me is a different. He wont want to leave as he is a utd fan & personally he only wants the best. Whether thats in the stand like under adkins when he attended a few or in dugout. But professionally he knows if we dont "stand still" & end up like Barnsley or bolton it will be him that get blane & or the sack for poor performances not chairman at fault for summer window

Just bumping this up in light of Wilder being odds on for the Sunderland job.

Lot of apathy at the moment, some saying keep him at all costs, others saying let him go......maybe L1 is his level and he likes lower league promotions on his CV....Let's be right, we have been dog shit second half of the season, perhaps it is a case of CW keeping his stock high and nowt at all to do with the boardroom?
