And yet we stopped up comfortably against all the odds. How do you know we would have done so had we not signed those 2 players?

I didnt think he was shite when he popped that last minute winner in at Goodison Park to give us the victory

Well, being an actual Sheffield United fan, and going to Malaga next week, i'd say there is a fairly good chance - wake up
There's a load off here travelling so why not introduce yourself when you're there? Just to say hello and establish your credentials. I would, just to see the apologies on here.

I saw them play. Marwood had been an excellent player but was well past it. Jones would never have made it to the pro game in any other era. A complete mindless thug, on and off the pitch.

Wally Fucking Downes, eh?

Not a chance you support United, you may well be going to Malaga next week, for an holiday, certainly not to watch my football team

fuck off mate, I know how often I go, how often i've been, and how often I'll continue to go. If you can't handle the fact someone has a different opinion to you on a subject you both feel passionately about, i'd suggest you seriously rethink the way you approach life, because you won't go very far and everyone you meet will think "wow, what a cunt"

There is an offer for you to meet up at the Malaga match, post 93.

Didn't that make it 2-0? I was there but may be wrong?

He was a shadow of the player that excelled for Arsenal and the Pigs, I'm sorry to say.

Jones? Well...

I thought we were trailing 1 nil, levelled then came Brian's dramatic late winner,i could be wrong, only way to settle it,calling Silent Blade

Where did I mention Wally Downes? I recall Marwood not playing that much, only costing £300k and yet being instrumental in vital wins v Southampton and Everton. Jones was an extremely limited footballer but played his part in that season. He was a square peg in a square hole when we needed it. Maybe we paid over the odds for him. Just my opinion but with the resources at his disposal I don't think any manager other than Basset would have kept us up that season. That he did it with about 4 matches to spare was a fantastic achievement.

Where did I mention Bassett? I saw Marwood and Jones debut against Leeds. Marwood was woefully of the pace and looked half fit. He continued in that vein. Yes of course he scored a couple of goals. So did Dean Hammond.

Jones was a useless article.

Moore (Championship)
Freeman (Championship)
O'Connell (Championship)
Lafferty (Premiership)
Coutts (Championship)
Fleck (Scottish Premier League)
Carruthers (Premiership)
Lavery (Championship)
Baldock (Championship)

We do of course need to add Championship experience and quality, however, much of our squad has played at a higher level already. So this myth that we're a team full of lower leagues hags is rubbish.

Look at the way we played last season, if we play like that, we'll be staying in the division.

Not at all now I've realised Wendy will have an average age of the squad of 43yrs old.

I'm not overly worried, no. Mainly because a Wilder squad typically comes out fighting and has a point to prove and as such, his signings have been of the right ilk, a bunch of players fighting to prove themselves. Add in to that that a few of those are coming off the back of being the form players for their respective sides and in their league team of the year and it is encouraging. Granted, a championship leader or two may be welcome though, particularly a centre half.
