Saw Maynard live a few times, bit of a hero of mine. Magnificent trumpet player, who could scream it higher than most. Nice bloke as well he was, saw him drinking at Ronnie Scott's once and he was more than happy to sit and chat for ages with a star struck chump like me

As much as I would love to hear him just once more, I think we have to accept the fact that Maynard died in 2006 and he's just a tad beyond resuscitation.
