So we go down to Suffolk in search of Adams first win. It is a long old trip to East Anglia and let hope we can change our fortunes round to reward there travelling support. Not that there will be many: when I called the ticket office on Monday we had ony sold 300 tickets. Cannot see many rushing out to buy more after another hom defeat. I amsure the ridiculous 31 quid ticket price has put people off (on top of likely defeat, the long journey and the recession).

So who is going?

I will be there with my old man from around midday. Hoping to find a real ale boozer and/or find some Unitedites for beer and banter.

As for the game, well, is an yone optimistic? Ipswich won away at Derby yesterday and we lost at home. They have a better team and we are still out of form. But stranger things have happened. I don't have a good feeling about this game, but t could go either way. It would be just like United to finally win a game we dont expect to win.

My prediction is 1-1.

I would play:

______ Wright

Parrino Collins Lowry Kozzy

Lowton Doyle Willo Yeates

______ Bent Evans

Can only see a defeat sadly - I want to be optimistic but every time I feel that way we end up with another "unlcuky" tag and a defeat by the odd goal. I'll be there early Saturday in my old local pub before heading to the ground.

As for the lack of tickets sold, it's to be expected and the price increase on the day doesn't help either.

Not a ground where we normally have any joy, apart from the result at the end of last season. Hopefully we could do that again (though it would be miraculous)! I would line-up as follows:-

Wright
Parrino, Collins, Lowry, Jordan
Lowton, Williamson, Doyle, Yeates
Evans, Bent
(if Wright and Jordan are fit to play - although we know that wont be anything like the actual line-up)

I dont expect anything from this game. I think we'll have to look to the ones against the sides around us. In our current form an away game against a side with decent players and a new manager is a tall order.

Semi-true as it's the only win we've had there since 1975 (!) but we've had a fair few draws (I've been there quite a few times and don't have it in my mind as a bad ground for us) so here's hoping!

Just looked on the Blades wesbite and tickets have gone up to £33.50. Absolute robbery!

I saw that, its disgusting. Almost £35 to watch two crap second tier sides.....Since the beginning of this season I vowed not to pay any more than £25 for an individual league or cup game because I think its outrageous even for top flight football.

That's why I now only go to games on my season ticket. I've been to one away game this season that fell within what I'm prepared to pay. Football has priced me out based on what I feel is value for money.

Agreed. The reason I paid is because: a) our old man is a over 60 and his ticket was 20 quid (and hence it worked out at £53 for the two of us - £26.50 each is expensive but bearable), b) I fond very cheap train tickets (from London) and c) I am a numpty (I said I would pay for him/us to go to watch Chelsea Liverpool and go to Battersea beer festival for xmas. The Chelsea game got moved to the Sunday and Battersea beer festiival is the week after! So I am taking himto see the mighty Red and White on the Saturday and to the local ale house instea of the festival :D )

In the spirit of Coops, win or lose Ollessendro will be hitting the booze. If we draw Ollie and his dad will drink some more. Forecast for tomorrow:
- mild with light drizzle in the afternoon
- lots of Adnams and Green King supped by Ollessendro and his dad
- some banter with some hardcore United-ites
- lots of taking the piss out sheep shaggers from Ipswich
- Annies song on the karaoke around 8pm? ;)
- Away win!!?

Have you already sampled some Adnams? Surely you aren't seriously forecasting a Blades win?!

It's in the bag mate. My dad and I* have a 100% away record this year!

* In fact my individual 100% away record exteds further than me and my old man going to games.

I'm stopping in Colchester. With a £31 match ticket, the train, even if I wasn't stopping over, it would be at least a ton. To be honest, most away matches nowadays are like this, expensive and shite. This season it seems that prices have shot up.

A draw will be a good result today, expect Bullard to haunt us again.

Line-up prediction:

Wright
Parrino
Collins
Lowry
Jordan
Williamson
Doyle
Yeates
Ward
Cresswell
Bent

That is presuming all injury doubts don't come through. Expect a bench full of youngsters!

We are unbeaten in our last 4 visits to portman road, i can see a win today i have a feeling we might get a bit of luck early in the game like a pen or sending off.

I never hope for sendings off. Always makes it more difficult. 9men behind the ball one up top. We struggle to break teams down as it is!

Yeh I'd accept a draw. But it will be tough. A win will come soon or later. :)

Well we have no goalscorers and a makeshift defence.

So League 1 should be nice.

And as the snortbeasts have found, 'HMS p*ss the league' doesn't necessarily hold true in league 1, we could be on a very slippery slide here and its hard to see where the next goal is coming from at the moment

The fortunate thing about being totally crap is that when you lose players through injury, suspension or illness it has zero effect. You're still totally crap. So things aren't that bad.

Well I can eat humble pie as I did say we would be in this league for another 13 years when we got relegated but it would appear I might be wrong now.

Worryingly true. Adams' signings have been geared towards battling to stay up. Getting promotion would seem highly unlikely with the current crop.

I don't know what can be said about today other than well done to the other 428 blades who turned up. We did not have a shot on target all match. The final ball was the problem and we could have Rooney, Crouch, Torres and Carroll up front and we wouldn't score. Every free kick and corner was wasted and whilst no one was really bad today no one was very good. I don't what more to say other than we look like relegation candidates and the table certainly doesn't lie

Well done indeed, but did we only take 430 fans!
