What we need is a bit of patience and the understanding that Hoof is dead. The rest of the world, outside s2, has moved on.

Problem is - the current mind-numbingly negative "style" is just as bad as hoof. Attacking, pacey football coupled with 100% effort is what I want. We didn't get it last season and we certainly aren't getting it so far this season.

I mentioned it after Bradford, but it's pointless trying to play football in our own half, what we need is to get forward with pace and start exposing teams, there were signs of it 1st half at Bradford as we tried to get around the back.

It sounded again that McMahon took every set piece, which means waiting for him to arrive. We can add tempo this way by not letting teams settle. If they know that they have to wait 30 seconds for the corner taker to arrive it gives them chance to set themselves up. If we keep the tempo up and keep them on their toes they will hate playing us.

So you love hoof?

:-)

Under Warnock and Blackwell we used to try all sorts of clever and sometimes daft routines, we need stuff like this again. Don't let sides settle, make the lane a place teams dread coming to because:
We put teams on the back foot
We make teams play in their final third
They never get a rest.

All of this will help the tippy tappy football that Pinchy wants too :)
Yes I agree swiss we must get warnock back Iimmediately

So you don't love hoof. Once we've measured both buckets I'll pass the info to pinch for some extra in even more depth analysis. Perhaps some like hoof, but only on a Wednesday?

Yorkshire Post game report says investor is from Dubai.

Could it actually be DIC ? They might have more than a passing interest in Scarborough group.

Of course it could be someone else from Dubai, misinformed or bullshit.

Have to wait till Tuesday then.

The rumours were Middle East the other day, so possibly. But McCabe also shot off to China after the game yesterday... So it could be China, which would link in with the shirt sponsor

McCabe has a 10% stake in Top Spring so it could be them. However I think that relationship predates January. You would have thought he has many key contacts in China. I think he quickly put that shirt deal in when he saw the reaction to the short term lender deal.

However I'm pretty sure the implication was the investor contacted them and the first meeting was January.

Perhaps, Nigeria then... Esan resigns to make way for the move... I guess, as you say, we'll find out on tues.

The Middle East rumour came form Alan Biggs who said the investment is almost certainly from the M.E.

I guess Biggs, Walker etc know a little bit more than they have let on, but sworn to secrecy

The Dubai snippet in the YP falls in-line with what Biggs says. I'm hoping it's a rich private investor rather than one of these venture capalist type companies, that just look for a quick buck. Having said that, if they are after a quick buck, someone from their company needs sacking!

One thing that puzzled me about the timing of the investment is that we've announced it just before Deadline Day, which will no doubt drive prices up... even if only a bit.

However, putting a different slant on it. What if this investors are particularly huge and therefore we're delaying the unveil until tomorrow when our asking prices can't be inflated to a silly degree.

Not that I'm reading too much into timing of course...

"We" didn't though did we? Someone leaked it. The official announcement was scheduled for tomorrow, which indicates there was a plan to avoid any inflation.

I thought there was a letter from Simon McCabe to shareholders, or was that a Porktalk WUM?
