Just tweeted this:
Don't think I'm alone in hearing rumours of some long-awaited new investment at #sufc. Would seem to figure. Hope true. Middle-East maybe?

Thoughts?

*EDIT - Just added this:
My understanding is not to expect a major #sufc announcement today - but I do believe one is pending with new investment on the cards.

The experienced cynic in me says "oh no here we go again".

End of the transfer window, big announcement of Major Investment = McCabe smoke screen to distract that we have sold another of our key players!!

The fact that we have actually spent money on a player means it is either scenario a (as above) or he has actually convinced somebody that investing purely into football (and not having to worry about real estate or grounds) is the way forward.

I ain't holding my breath.

Just had a thought, did Doncaster Rovers get taken over by that Irish consortium after all? i wonder if it's been dragged on too long so they'e switched their attention to another South Yorkshire club??

Alan Biggs is saying on Twitter that an announcement on new investment is imminent, suggesting the next few days. Also saying that announcement of at least one new player, possibly several others, possibly even today.

Interesting, it is the anniversary of announcing the intention to get funds from Nigeria.

But Jacob Esan has resigned, so is it new investment ?

It will also coincide with Scarborough Group's 2013 accounts and presumably McCabe will say there is a funding deal for SUFC's continuing shortfall ?

SHEFFIELD UNITED ANNOUNCEMENT TO
ALL COLLEAGUES AT THE SCARBOROUGH GROUP OF COMPANIES,
FORSYTH BUSINESS CENTRES
AND VSPORTS GAMES

Dear Colleagues

We write to formally advise you that this week an Agreement with a respected International Investor who will become an equal partner with ourselves in the recently reorganised SUFC has been concluded. The significant investment to be made is principally being used for improving the performance of First Team Football with the joint key aim of continuing to work hard to see the Blades back in the Premier League as soon as possible.

Discussions commenced in January of this year and thereafter get togethers with the chosen Investor led to advancing negotiations which have now reached a successful conclusion. The Board of SUFC is being reshaped and the new Directors will be announced within the coming days.

This game changing reshaping of our fine and proud Club is in recognition by our new colleagues of the long standing traditions we have as a family and community orientated football organisation with a rich history and heritage from nearly 125 years of existence. Additionally our business is to remain financially well run and sustainable unlike the predicament that faces quite a few other English and Scottish Football Clubs at the present time.

It is an exciting future for SUFC and indeed the Scarborough Group where hard work and effort on and off the field of play should bring enjoyment and success in the years ahead.

A formal press conference is scheduled for next Saturday morning the 7th September at which our new partner will be in attendance.

Up the Blades!

Simon McCabe Scott McCabe

I should know better but I'm actually really encouraged by that.

Someone has newly registered to post it.

Where from ? I'm guessing China as the McCabes have a foothold and substantial investment partnerships.

They did actually mention investment meetings at the December AGM, one connected with football, one meeting in Europe.

Allow me...

I'm not a Sheffield United fan. I did once watch my team take a spanking from Sheffield Wednesday and I've harboured bitterness against them ever since, making the Blades my default favourite club in Sheffield, but that's by the by.

The announcement is 100% genuine, was circulated this morning. You take it with however much salt you like - 'm a football fan myself and I know I appreciate it when people leak me info about my own football club on to our fan forums. After all, we eat sleep and breathe this stuff right?

Guess I'm just passing on in good faith and hoping for some good karma for my own team in return ;)

For what it's worth I have sent your administrator, Foxy, verification of the authenticity.

What you do with it and whether you want to believe it is entirely up to you :)

Peace.

Admirable sentiments but I don't care much for the grammar of that third paragraph.

By my reckoning that gives us exactly eight days to fuck it up and have the deal fall through. Any suggestions?

Fair enough. Are you arranging the English classes for the board or shall I? :)

Knock yourself out :)

It does look as though it was originally written in a different language and translated into English with little more than Google translate.

Take with a pinch of salt, of course. But all I'm saying is that the shenanigans alarm is not ringing yet.

Excellent tweating there Biggsy. That would be the worlds worst fucking rumour if you were the only one wouldn't it?

Nice memo, hope it's true. Perhaps they can buy some better punctuation with some of the new funds.

Happy to forward you the email I just sent Foxy - drop me a message with your email or something.

If anyone has any Qs feel free to ask but I'm not privy to much more info than I've already given. :)

They've obviously already invested in a job lot of capital letters and felt they needed to use some, regardless of whether they're required.

Maybe, just maybe, this is why the KMac money looks as if it is being reinvested in the team? Doubt that would have happened under the status quo we have been enduring for the last few years.
