Exciting news guys. McCabe selling Blades to Consortium fronted by Sean Bean, with backing from US investment firm that Bean has contacts with ( company part funded several films Bean has starred in). McCabe will right off all personal debt and allow the new owners to pump most of the investment into the playing squad (£20M initially with further investment upon expected promotion to Championship and then Premier League). This is why deals for big earners are on hold as the takeover is entering due diligence stage.
Really shouldn't have put this rumour on as it risks my friendship with Sean, but I just can't wait to see the Wednesday scums faces when this comes off.

Thought I was on a piggy site at first, Investment is just around the corner, I did see someone like Geoff Sheard crossing the road near the Lane yesterday morning so it could be true !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

personally might be better with rowen atkinson (mr Bean) as chairman at least hes a good actor, funny and is as much a blade as our current owner/chairman.

Agreed, although getting someone with a few spare quid to generously spread around would be nice so long as they cared about the club.

Total tosh, sorry. Sean Bean knows as much about running a football club as Kevin McCabe knows about fighting orcs.

It's not the debt write off it's the strategic direction and running of the business that would worry me.
You can't solve everything by twatting it or fecking it.

Sounds overly elaborate just to film the long-awaited sequel to "When Saturday Comes". Worst rumour of the summer.

I don't think the people involved would really want it all over a message board at this time, even if it is true

Nobodies shooting the messenger, we're just very sceptical. If it does come off then you'll be remembered as the finest ITK'r that the world of the internetting has ever seen :)

why would someone at the club leak this? why would sean bean waste his time with this, he's a film star (and a bad one at that) not a business man. The last time i saw a picture off him he was sat outside a pub, with some fat lad in a blades shirt in london chain smoking and giving some asian woman the eye. he's a class A bell end and he wouldnt know shit about running a football club, leave off beano and get back too being killed in everything you 'star' in!
 
You've more chance of getting me on Christa Ackroyd than Sean Bean back on the board of SUFC.
