Just for a laugh.................. lets try to predict how much SUFC will invest in new players this summer, starting now ending 1st day of next season.
Figure calculated by deducting value of any transfers out to money spent on transfers in.

Me i'm going optimistic at £2million.........

4.5 million
1.5 mil - defenders
2 mil - midfielders
1 mil - striker

Is this including or excluding wages, signing on fees and agents money?

Excluding all im guessing, probably just transfer fee

Im going for £3 million

i'd say it all depends on who goes too.

Id say nothing.
If they sell Tonge for 4M to blackburn then i cant really see them spending more than that. Plus im sure more will be leaving :)

Our form since Blackwell took over put us at the top of the Championship by some margin. How much do we need to invest? And for that matter, the same argument, why is everybody so bloody eager to ship out Tonge and Morgan AGAIN? A good team is built around a strong backbone. Are we not a good team? Or have we bucked the trend and are a good team without a strong backbone?

Have to agree here, i hate footballing cliches but if Robsons tenure has shown me anything it is that the way forward is evolution not revolution.

If we keep hold of Beattie and Cotterill and bring in a right back and centre back i would be confident that we would be in the mix at the end of the season.

That is assuming that Speed can give us 15 games or so next season; if not i would have to add a calming influence at centre midfield to the list of targets.

HEY..................stick to the thread.............. How much ?

You have some cheek with the amount of threads you have changed to 'our Terry' and 'ambition'

Now 'out terry' is stayin yer will hear mi...............................

When is the other clown cummin back ?

Edit by Foxy: Text made a more sensible size.

Couldn't agree more............. he appoints the worst manager in the history of SUFC the Blades get out of jail with Blackie and 'our terry' will still be around BDTBL.......unbelievable.

oh by the way with 'our terry' handling transfers may as well close the thread.......its meaningless now.

The Blades sending out the reight message 'our terry' is stayin..........fuck*n hell.............

Right, sit-down Beightonblade, let me educate you for a moment. You seem to have a knack of mis-reading things. Whether you do this intentionally in order to fuel your otherwise irrational hatred, or whether it's a genuine disability, I don't know.

However, in this instance the quote (taken from YOUR post) was this:

"Robinson will combine the role in Hungary with his duties at Sheffield where he will look after transfers."

This doesn't mean he will be deciding who we sign.

It means he will be involved at negotiation stages probably because, like it or not, understand it or not (I don't!), he is very well respected in footballing business circles.

Also, McCabe never said that Robinson would be leaving SUFC at the end of the season. He said that Robinson would be relieved of his position as football chairman.

If you need a hand with anything else, there's plenty of people here who can help you.

Oh, and if you're going to censor your own posts, at least censor a crucial letter that makes up the sweary bit.

ie: "you talk b*llocks" rather than "you talk bollock*"

It's whether they want to :p

If Tonge and Morgan goes and a good few others, the books will balance!

If Tonge stays, we will spend between £2m-£3m!

Oh, and TA is spot-on regarding Robinson. He will be the negotiator, not the instigator of any transfer.

The new football supremo might have a say in who we sign, though!

Yer reight............especially the one with Dame Trev and Scudamore.....
any way its not as bad as first seemed.... 'our terry' aint going to be concentrating on things at BDTBL.........which can't be a bad thing cause when he does he makes a reight fu*k up.

Agreed whole-heartedly. I'm glad I could help, mate.

Blackwell has extended the overseas scouting according to the BBC

Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell is extending the club's scouting system to include plans for attracting players from overseas.

The Blades boss, who signed a three-year deal last week, told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"We're developing a brand new scouting system that will be more inclusive both home and abroad so we could see one or two foreign players coming in.

"What we've got to do is not sign the big names but the right names."

Id say nothing.

This seems to be most relastic answer overall..... it would seem we have received more than we have spent.

Hmmmmm has this been explored do you reckon?
