I wouldnt ordinarily troll forums with my cyber collection bucket but I think I can just about get away with it this time as its very much SUFC related...

I’m running the Sheffield Half Marathon this weekend. It will be the first time I've ever run the 13 miles.

Whilst my primary objective on entering it was simply to carry my sorry carcass over the finishing line, I’ve now jumped straight in at the deep end and agreed to be part of the official Sheffield United team taking part in the event. (I'm back left in the above photo).

Together with the parents of one of the Special Olypians, I’m joining the SUFC physio's, masseurs, video analysts, kit men and accountants to form the official Blades team which will tackle the 13-mile route in a major fundraising and awareness push in support of the Special Olympics. Bramall Lane will host the opening ceremony of the World Games in August.

It’s a fantastic cause, the Special Olympics creates an inclusive and competitive stage for those who would otherwise not be afforded the chance to benefit from everything that sport has to offer. They rely on a lot of volunteer time and public donations to host these events so if any of you can spare a few quid, you can sponsor us here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/cha...rityCampaignUrl=sosheffield/sufc-halfmarathon

There's a bit more on the OS here: http://www.sufc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/sheffield-united-special-olympics-3657778.aspx

Well done and good luck.

You're the one with the beard at extreme left back row, yes?

If you visualise it Presty, you can do it!;)

PS, I assume as "Head of Visualisation", you just sit around fucking daydreaming and doodling all day?

Good luck:)

That's a fairly accurate summary of my job to be honest! :)

You're a brave man identifying yourself on here and opening yourself up to all sorts of undeserved ridicule :)

Nothing to hide and it's all for a good cause.
