In a thick Belgian accent - focuses on his rehab really
  • we played really well
  • should've been 2-0 up at half time - 2 or 3
  • looking forward to Tuesday - everyone will be more than ready
  • been over a year - delighted
  • at the end of the day (bingo!) the main thing is the team promotion
  • been extremely difficult, frustrations
  • feel fit and ready
  • want to play my heart out for Sheffield
  • have to stay strong mentally
  • be like a rock
  • great support from Adkins, staff and the players
  • felt good today
  • now focus on promotion and nothing else
  • feels 100% confident in his body

If Adkins likes him he's quite obviously shit! I'm sorry folks but opinion of Nigel Adkin is seriously clouded by the simple fact . . . . .

We need to keep him fit. When he's played he's been impressive. Particularly Southampton last season.

Doesn't sound like a thick Belgian ?

A little bit deluded there. If the post match discussions in the dressing room, led by Adkins are that we were unlucky, then we can pack up now.

Losing 2-0 is rarely unlucky, yes we played well, yes we may even have created chances and their keeper played well. But Rochdale are a mid table side. If we did indeed play well, then it wasn't well enough, we weren't clinical enough and we allowed them into the game.

Its one thing for the players and manager to come on the radio, talking up promotion (whilst mathematically its possible, its unlikely - we're 14 points off 2nd), but they need to also be honest with themselves that they haven't done enough. Its an acceptance of mediocrity.

To follow this, just read this on the BBC from Zidane on Real Madrid:

Zidane said: "We were not as ready for the game as we thought we were. All I can say is that it's not just about our fitness.

"The players are not unfit, it's a question of everything. We didn't play the game we had prepared.

"They played on Wednesday and had less time to recover, and look at the game they played. So it is a mental question. We lacked a bit of everything.

"I told the players that we have to keep on going, I can't be happy with this performance and neither are they, but we can't give up. I have a clear idea of what went wrong today."

I'm not comparing us to Real Madrid, I don't follow them, but Zidane shows that you can be honest and open with fans, without slating individuals
