Hi all,

Noah here from The Red Half of Sheffield. Norwich City FC announced today an international membership opportunity for exiled Canaries. As a Sheffield United supporter of more than 13 years living in Los Angeles, I would love the opportunity to purchase an annual membership with SUFC, but have found it to be too cost prohibitive for the 1-2 visits to the UK I plan to make per year to watch the Blades. I am certain if the club enacted a similar membership for international supporters there would be a ton of interest. What do all of you think?

I believe they have a bit more of a supply/demand issue for tickets than we would likely have. If we were selling out every week then it wouldn't be a bad idea, but for our club right now it seems a bit redundant and I would think you'd be able to get tickets for basically any game you wanted

There’s certainly a fair few exiled Blades these days to make it worthwhile. Certainly worth firing off an email to the club I suspect.
I've already shot the club a message on the website. If any other exiled Blades wouldn't mind doing the same, perhaps the club will take notice.

We used to do Memberships with similar benefits. The page is still on the website, so maybe they will announce something when the season tickets are open for sale again.

By similar, you used to get 10% discount in club shop, access to home tickets and other random bits. Nothing for away tickets, but if they introduced that it would make a mockery of the loyalty points system.

Yes. I’m sure they will do the memberships as it’s the easiest way to get loyalty points, but if memory serves correctly, they go for £125 per season. As an international Blade it’s a bit cost prohibitive for it to be worth it for 1-2 matches per season. A lower cost membership (Canaries are doing it for £25) specifically for those of us living outside of the UK would be welcome.

I'm sure it was only about £20-25 quid for a membership. I could be wrong, even when I was properly exiled I kept hold of my season ticket so never used them.

Yep, that sounds about right. It might have crept up to thirty quid in the PL but not much more than that

Found the old article, £40 for adults. I do agree though, something bespoke for international fans would certainly be welcomed.

Looks like I might have been way off thinking the memberships were £125.

Where abouts in LA are you mate? The wife and I are moving to Canada soon, but will be spending some time in LA next year for 2 month.

Usually head down to the Kings head in santa Monica when trying to catch a game.

I’m in East Los Angeles, but do join the Sheffield United - Los Angeles group as we do try and hold events every once in a while at Joxer Daly’s in Culver City.

Fully agree, when we are in The Premier League, essential for supporters who can only get to a few games, after the kick off time has been established and flight prices through the roof. However while we are in the championship there won’t be many sell outs so it should be ok to pickup a ticket without.

It's been put to the club in the past, as ever its a supply and demand thing and often, I've known the club unofficially and quietly go out of the way to help those heading over from further afield.

I've asked about new season tickets upon returning and been told "we have no information for the foreseeable"

It’s always a bit messy isn’t it? We have renewed our STs but I can’t see us getting to many games what with COVID restrictions, the cost of travelling and the fact that a round trip takes up virtually all weekend.
It pisses me off that we spend a fortune travelling but it’s really difficult to get tickets to games in London (we could just get the Eurostar from Brussels) because we don’t have the points. We buy season tickets but they are barely used...I’m hoping we will be able to go to Fulham away this season.

Mid June was half expected for availability, but I guess it depends on what the SAG and authorities have suggested might be permitted and the take up on renewals/any change to allocations (be very different outside Prem).

They might be playing it safe til any update on 'advice'.
