Last break on the back of walloping Villa we come back from Bristol with a loss.
This time we come back from the international break and lose to Derby - coincidence ?
Seem to lose our rhythm somewhat.
Don't know when the next one is but hopefully we can amass plenty of points in between to compensate.
Looks like most of our rivals at the top don't fair well after the breaks either.

We actually benefit from a slightly longer than normal International Break next time. As our last game in the current Club Break has been switched to Friday 9 November (v SWFC) & our first game in the next Club Break is Saturday 24 November (v RUFC).
During that period I'll be going to the two England games, one Academy U23 away game & four Futures games. So it's still quite a busy period

We're wank after international breaks!
It's as if, we just start to build a head of steam, just get a run going, and then there's a break, everything falls apart, our first game back is dross, and then we react and start to build again, it's always the same.

Have you checked last seasons?

After the breaks last season...

Sep 2nd.....W Sunderland a

Oct 7.........W Ipswich H

Nov 11 W Burton A

March 22 D Brentford A

So it's not always the same.

Never said we lost the games, just that were usually dross first game back.

We lost difficult away games by one goal on both occasions. Break had nothing to do with it

Lol that’s the worst backtrack ever! We had an almost faultless return last season and you say we’re normally dross! Ha ha come on you can take this one on the chin

Got to admit though that I assumed that we lost the first games after the international break last season.

If we lose to the pigs before the next one I think Foxy could do with shutting this forum down for the international break. There’ll be some proper shite and bile on here.

Oh. And of course, we'll also do England Rugby v Japan & The All Blacks at Twickenham, but that's off topic..... Very busy.....

No "backtrack", the first game back after a break, win, lose or draw, we play worse than we do the previous or following game.

If we had not put in a decent shift in the first half against Derby then I would agree.

It just looked like we were complacent in the second half hoping to get a draw. We looked leggy in the last 30 minutes and the break should be helping us not hindering us since we didn't lose many players to call ups.

Last season:

BEFORE: Derby (H) win 3-1
AFTER: Sunderland (A) win 2-1

BEFORE: Forest (A) lost 2-1
AFTER: Ipswich (H) win 1-0

BEFORE: Hull (H) win 4-1
AFTER: Burton (A) win 3-1

BEFORE: Forest (H) draw 0-0
AFTER: Brentford (A) draw 1-1

So, out of the four occasions last season, we did exactly the same in three, and better after the break in the other. Looking at the performances, I certainly don't think that we were particularly better in the games before the break (maybe the second half against Hull was better than the game at Burton).

It just bores us all except those who’s making money, it’s same for others too so pointless debate

Up on sat happy days family visit, can I buy on gate before game ? Going cremorne before match always used to be a last min dash prob go ticket office sat morning

We've done this bit already, and IN MY OPINION, we are usually not great in our first game back after a break.

Last season we beat Derby, who in turn were a much better side than Sunderland, and second half against Sunderland we weren't great.
Forest beat us, but it was close, and we played well, Ipswich, again, were nowhere near as good as Forrest, and we, again, didn't have a great second half.
We took Hull apart, and we also showed Burton how to play football, granted, but Burton were dire last year.
And finally, we played well against Forrest, and should've beaten them, we just couldn't finish, which is our main problem in the championship.
And we should've beaten Brentford, but we, again, ran out of steam and threat in the second half, which is another of our failings in the championship unfortunately.

Your opinion may differ, it isn't a competition, and I stick by my opinion.
