I always thought Inter were the little brother of AC?

I'm not sure why AC don't have the same rivalry with Juve as Inter do
But traditionally Inter v Juve was always the biggest game.

Maybe it's dates back to the time that AC went 40-50 years without winning a title in the early to mid 20th century and Inter and Juventus were more regular winners

Taken from an article several years ago, quite interesting story actually

The animosity between Inter and Juve is by no means a recent thing, the two most successful clubs in Italy have a long history of rivalry – at least some 50 years of it, though no one knows for definite what started it, most think that the rivalry goes back to the 1960/1 campaign and the famous 9-1 Juventus win. The story goes that second-place Inter came to Turin in April of 1961 to take on first place Juventus.

Inter were only four points behind and had already beaten Juve 3-1 earlier that season in Milan. Unfortunately, so many fans turned up for the game (far more than the stadium could hold), that about 5,000 fans spilled out of the stands to watch the game from the sidelines, some even making their way onto the Inter bench.

Despite this, the game started as planned but half an hour into the first half, the referee ordered the game abandoned because of the Juventus supporters on the pitch. According to the rules, Inter was awarded a 2-0 win (Juventus was a awarded a win under similar circumstances a couple years previous to this ruling).

In typical Juventus style they appealed the decision to the FIGC (Funny how they didn’t appeal when the decision went their way!) and on the last day of the season, just before kickoff of the last game, the court ruled that Inter’s win would be repealed and the game would have to be replayed. In the eyes of Inter supporters and players, this ruling virtually handed Juve the championship.

To make matters worse, the head of the FIGC at the time was (no surprises here) Umberto Agnelli, the president of Juventus (and father of the current club chairman, Andrea Agnelli). Inter president Angelo Moratti (father of the current president, Massimo Moratti) and coach Helenio Herrera decided that they would field Inter’s youth team for that replay in protest.

Inter would play the game but it would be shown for the farce they felt it to be. The outcome was the 9-1 destruction of Inter by Juve and the birth of a rivalry that continues to this day. It is a bit staggering to think that events that occurred 50 years ago are still coloring how people view this game today but fans have long memories and the legend of that game lives on.

Italian corruption, who'd have thought it

Classless.

Like illegally streaming paid content of your club and depriving them of some income, and getting sponsored while doing it? And then launching a clothing site again potentially depriving the club you support of income.

Nah

The Italian word for fan is tifoso, literally one suffering from typhus.

Do you get embarrassed easily mate?.
It was a nice touch by the Blades fans, their players and club will be saying what a class club sheffield united are, first impressions etc.
It was a great game. They had some really good players. They are a big club. I'm sure they respect the way we played and us as a club without the need for the pathetic standing ovation every time they made a substitution.

Did we do it at Mansfield too? Or don't we care about making a good impression to them?

That post put a big grin on this miserable bastards face. Have a like.

Comparing inter to Mansfield
We showed enough respect to Mansfield players by ours not punching and kicking theirs after the game, unlike the tramps from S6.

To me they are both just other football teams that aren't Sheffield United.

An interesting story but it seems a bit biased to me. According to Wiki, Juventus finished five points clear of Inter, so the four point swing wouldn’t have won them the title anyway.

Besides, I would always favour matches being decided on the pitch rather than being lost by pitch invasions caused by overcrowding.

The abandoned game wasn't the last of the season.

Juve were awarded the points in a game that was abandoned a couple of seasons earlier That was the rule. But they, appealed to the football authorities after the same rule was applied to Inter. The authorities of course headed by one of the Agnelli family.

Juve of course being stripped of two titles some years later due to corruption, AC Milan also being involved.

So, a lie, followed by a dumb comment, a touch of casual racism, and concluded with a comment with a large aspect of truth.
Alternate facts has finally made it to S2.

does that silly term even mean owt?

Differences on Tuesday night? It was only a friendly that drew a crowd of nearly 19,000. A lot of those in the crowd wouldn't have been regular attendees, which is probably why the subs. were given an ovation. Is that all we've got to moan about? The reason us 'regular' fans don't applaud away teams' substitutions is because they've often been dirty fuckers who were near a red card and then leave the pitch with all the speed of an arthritic snail.

Meanwhile, at PSG Mansfield, the pigs lost and reacted in their usual way - by starting an on-field brawl.

So Egan didn't clap the crowd when he was subbed? Perhaps he was pissed off at being subbed. So nobody fist-bumped Henderson when he made a good save? Perhaps because he's only been here 2 minutes and the players haven't 'bonded'. I'd be more worried if I was Wendy with FFP hanging over them, their 'Great White Hope' George Hurst given away, nobody interested in their overpaid, overrated players and a fractious squad.

Cheating, diving little fucker Forestieri caused a mass ruck and the pig fans call it 'pashun'. (TBF, he must have been pissed off by his inexplicable omission from Argentina's WC squad. He is world-class. I read it on porktalk.)

It's been a long, hot summer but we're heading in the right direction. Well done Blades for getting Inter to play at BDTBL. Beats crawling to Rangers to boost the crowd.

I love travelling and I love football, no idea why I've never really mixes the two and done things like that because I bet it's incredible.
Get it done never too late! I think my first Italian match was 2001. The emergence of Ryanair and the internet helped!

One of the Milan trips involved an Arctic Monkeys gig one day and Milan v Roma the next. Seemed to be half of Sheffield at the gig. That was May 2006 a week or two after we’d been promoted to the Prem. Happy days!

So when we clap them we want them to applaud us back.

What about the times when we boo them / heckle them etc. Should they then stick the middle finger up?

So many snowflakes on here.

They aren't clapping. They've cupped their farts and are throwing them into the crowd the dirty classless bastards. And one of them is about to punch Moore next to the centre circle to the right of the half-way line.

Inter travelled over 700 miles for this game, we don't get to play Inter all that often and may never play them again, it's called a friendly for a reason. It doesn't hurt to build up some good relations with a big European club.

Yep and we will have done just that without clapping off their substitutes.

What are we clapping them for? Allowing us to see them in the flesh? Spending the night in Sheffield? Don't get it.

Appreciation, if people want to clap, let them clap, if it's not directly effecting you then I'd try not to worry about it too much. As much as you don't care that it was Inter Milan, believe it or not, some people do and paid to see Inter and not United. My mate's a Chelsea fan, he went down to the Lane to watch the game.
