Insistence on sitting back

No one can deny he's a total bottle job.
Should have played our strongest 11 tonight. But dickhead has all eyes on the pigs game, cos he doesn't want to lose face in the pub with his chav mates.
Dinosaur wants sacking in the morning.

Annoying, but it has worked countless times this season. Personally, I'd rather go down swinging, but I'm not the gaffer
It has worked countless times this season but I think everyone knew that it was only a matter of time before it didn’t. We don’t have van Dijk in our defence. Lots of times where if the ball ricochet another way we would have conceded more goals. Not a fan of it

Felt like it was a mix of both tonight.

From the first minute they were flying up the pitch to push us back (that number 7 and Sinclair Armstrong mainly), especially when Cooper had the ball.

I think we could have worked a little harder to get out of the press (especially with better balls over the top for Campbell) but City were playing very high, and they pushed up even more at 1-0.

Sometimes you also have to look at the players.

They did very little to retain possession. Needed more cool heads.

A Tom Davies would have been helpful to have in that game. Someone who doesn’t surrender possession.

There were few obvious bench alternatives and we are managing fitness as well.

Leaving on Seriki and Holding for example might have been tempting fate.

We just weren’t fluid today. Over 37 matches you won’t always be.

We got a point from an in form opponent. Sometimes you have to take that and move on.

Another game we have thrown away through Wilders insistence on parking the bus.

I dont think he will ever learn, and even if we go up we will go straight back down.

Wilder has completely lost his bottle,we should have killed the game off.

Leeds showed us how to kill a game off, i cant ever recall a promotion team being si dire half the team yet being top albeit with Leeds having a game in hand.

We have completely bottled it and thrown it away.

Now Wednesday go into that game full of confidence with their great comeback win and we are left seerhing.

Bristol City were by far the better team 23 shots to our 13.

Lets be 100% clear if we get promoted that will be because we have individual players that are top championship players that have got us out the sh*t time and time again.

Overall we have played like a mid table team all season yet our individual quality in key moments has seen us win a lot of games.

But in the games where Wilder has resorted to negative tactics it has come back and bit us on the arse.

Wednesday winning was the best result possible.

Had they gone into the game on the back of a defeat then there would have been the added expectation to hit back after a disappointment.

100% this. We go one up and immediately become cowardly.

Think Wilder might need a pair. Time and time again he’s absolutely shit his pants and opted to defend for 20/30 mins when one up. When’s he going to realise the best form of defence, is to attack? Pure shit his kecks again!

I suppose it depends on how much you believe his post match interview, but he did point out that it disappointed him also. He felt we were too deep and the 6’s sat back with no intention on pushing to the half way line.

It didn’t work! No shape what so ever first half!

Can you tell me where in those 37 games we have been fluid I can recall 4 games

Fair comments, though I don’t agree with the fluid comment, I can’t recall (outside maybe 4/5 games) where we’ve been fluid. It’s the same tactic over and over again.

We do it because it is important to recognise the opponents' absolute superiority at all times

To be fair, this is easy to do, because all our opponents are absolutely fantastic

I think we should be praising Wilder. We were within minutes of hanging on for victory against a team with the great Mark Sykes in it. Let that sink in

At least with the negative tactics in the second half, we saw some tactics as I have no idea what we were doing in the first half!

Midfleid got over ran all half and we did nothing to sort it out. We get Hamer in his natural position, and all is good in the world for 10 minutes, and then we bottled it. Totally deserved equaliser!

Sorry I am hacked of with tonight but your ‘another game’ thrown away does not make a bit of sense, we are top of the league with the best away form. Can you clarify what the other games are that we threw away

QPR game at home we completely imploded we did the same against Leeds.

We may be top of thr league but we should be well clear and the reason we aren't is we dont kill games off.

Disappointed but a fair result .
Can't argue that we sit top despite not looking like a team that's ever going to get a hat full of goals .. I don't think we're particularly defensive as a team or an attacking team , just a team that generally gets results although if someone asked what's our style I couldn't answer .
We're a top half side with a few players that makes us a promotion challenging side ,when they're missing it shows and looks difficult.

He has highlighted in the last couple of weeks, why I would not have him in charge in the premiership. He has never been able to spend big money and tactically he has come up short against the top teams, even Hecky won the tactical battle on Saturday, just no quality to score. We were very lucky to win at Bristol in November as well.

Comment to my mates when we scored was 'we will now go negative and it will be last time we are in their box!' We are so predictable and 3 points today have the same value as 3 on Sunday, he lacks professionalism as he showed with his antics in the Banner.

Credit on building a new side, he is great at picking up the best Championship players. But will come up short when going for the top players and anyone who is not played in Britain.

Sorry mate and not wanting to get into an argument but you are quoting the 3rd
game of the season and Leeds who will probably win the league, really!!!!! We are all hacked of with missing an opportunity to go 4 clear of Burnley and some breathing space, however 9 games to go and we are top of the league, it’s pretty much in Leeds and our hands. He didn’t sit back tomm no night he had 4 4 2 not 5 4 1

He went 5 at the back.

We get points for results not style.

We’ve become a bit functional. I tend to agree.

I want us to win. Would it be nice if we did so with finesse and guile? Of course.

Would I rather be entertained but not pick up points? Not at all.

It’s the business end and it’s a long slog. The Championship is a long slog. It’s a newly assembled team.

If it’s not pretty but we go up then I’ll happily take that.

All three promoted teams will have a tough task regardless of who goes up.

The gobshite has cost us 2 more points tonight. He wants to have a look at himself. Tonight was the tougher of the 2 matches and the stronger team should have been played tonight. Instead he opted to rest players as a win on Sunday will further inflate his ego. Anyone that thinks he’s taking us anywhere is fooling themselves

Hecky won the tactical battle on Saturday, just no quality to score.
I honestly thought that in the first half of the Preston game, Hecky had told his players to stand as far as possible away from anyone in a red and white shirt, and don’t get in the way of their passes. We should have made far more of it and been well up by half time, but tactically, I thought Hecky was woeful - that 45 minutes looked like the worst attempt to play against us by any team that’s come here this season.

After 20 mins they had a tactical keeper injury as we were steam roller them. They went 5 at back and stop us playing and and nearly took us for a draw. If Hecky had our squad and vice versa he would have put 3 past us. His promotion season was more entertaining than this, though not as successful.
