What do you guys think should happen in the transfer market next season now that we are near enough home and dry?

Who should be shipped out? Who should be brought in?

i want Mcsheffrey from Coventry quality player, maybe if we can arca from sunderland!

But basically i feel we need a new defence nearly!

I'd also get players in their last season !

You wont need to many players. You already have plenty of players in your current squad that could hack it in the premiership.
IMO you will need 4 or 5 experienced premiership players, maybe a old head in there just to ease the younger lads!

players that i think are definately good enough:

Armstrong, kabba, webber, tonge, jagielka, ifill?, bromby, Quinny on form?

Unsworth may be able to hack it in the premiership again.

Why question ifill? Surley 9 goals from right wing proves his quality.

Kenn will hack it!!

i think ifill could but he is a confidence player if he isn't confident he is poor but on his day he can hack it in the prem!

Most players are about confidence to be honest. I think we should try for Keiron Richardson as we do need a left midfielder and also we should try for Big Hartson ever though he probably won't join us but still hes worth a try. :)

sorry i forgot about kenny.lol

And i put the ? next to ifill because he's not very predictable. The game may suit him better in the premiership but then again he may find it harder to adjust. We'll have to wait and see how he goes. I do think he'll adjust well as he'll have more time on the ball to think about what he's doing.

p.s i was shocked and slightly annoyed that ifill had been dropped against cardiff, when me and my uncle saw the line up we instantly looked at each other and said "no ifill?" at the same time..lol

It was daft for him to be dropped, maybe he hasnt had much sleep due to the new baby? And then monty at right wing omg, i know its not his position but he was well and truel shocking.

Ones that should be good enough - Kenny, Bromby, Jags, Tonge, Ifill, Webber. Probably Armstrong, and Kabba and Akinbyi (also, dare it be said, Monty) should be good enough at least for the squad, not sure about regular starts except maybe Armstrong. If Unsworth's fitness levels are good enough his experience may be needed, ditto either Ships or Horsefield, but wouldn't count on any of them as other than cameo players. Some of the other 1st teamers will certainly have to be in athe team, and there's a limit to how many better players we'll have to bring in. I'd expect us to bring in Jerome, top priority otherwise has to be central defence, Short is retiring and Morgan/Luketti don't have enough pace/skill to go with them as a pairing (although Morgan was outstanding in the cup against Arsenal last season).

Can imagine the youth team having very mixed feelings about our promotion, if they weren't deemed ready for the Championship this season they can't fancy their chances at breaking into the team at Prem level!

Ross, Forte, Squinn, Francis etc im sure will not be best pleased. Can see all of them wanting to leave. I know for a fact the last one is unhappy.

I think he was brought in to play there so that he could stop Koumas from being in the game so much which provided very effective imo.

Perhaps we should ask to be in league 2 so we can play them?

With a good pre-season Francis has as much chance as anyone else in starting the first game. As for the others, it depends if they are deemed good enough to play, if they aren't then tough.

? But koumas played down the right hand side not down the left? I know it wasnt montys position but he was poor.

UP THE BLADES!!

League 2! No bloody thanks! Look at man city and boro, the amount of players they have who have some through the youth system. I hope that 1 day we can be a club like that, not a dig at neil but i cant see that happening while he is still here.

Manchester City academy... opened in 1998

Middlesboro academy... one of the first academy set ups

Both set up before ours and are only recently producing first team players, I think we have a bit of leeway in terms of catchup.
