SHEFFIELD United's preparations for Saturday's crucial Premiership relegation battle with West Ham are being hampered by injuries to three key players.
Phil Jagielka, Christian Nade and Danny Webber were all nursed through training yesterday as medical staff attempt to ensure they are available for selection against Alan Curbishley's side.
Jagielka tweaked his groin in training when United returned to Shirecliffe yesterday following the 2-1 home defeat by Newcastle - a result which confirmed their place in the bottom three with just six games of the season remaining. While Nade is understood to be suffering from a twisted ankle.
Neil Warnock is hopeful they will recover in time for the visit of West Ham but admitted the situation is far from ideal.
"It's not the greatest of news," the United manager said. "But that's football and you've just got to get on with it.
"They might not do any proper work until around Thursday'ish but they can still be involved in some capacity. The lads are in good spirits
